GT2542 Hydro problem

I just got a used GT2542 with 280 hrs...Thanks to snooping around this forum before I registered

I did a full service including replacing the hydro fluid and filter. I drained the fluid and replaced the filter, then I added 5 quarts of 15-40 rotella T. The dip stick said it was full, so I started the engine to circulate the oil and get a better reading. The problem is the tractor wont move now. When I press the forward or reverse nothing happens at all.

One thing I noticed is the lever to engage and disengage the transmission is not there...Must be it fell off on the previous owner??

Doing a search here with some better keywords has me to believe that my problem is using an aftermarket filter.

That or it might just need to be bleed. Get the wheels up off the ground and try going forward and reverse with it off the ground.

It's been a year, what did you end up finding out on it ??
