I can't imagine running plain air in such a high speed machine...

I use pure, natural spring air, filtered to perfection by the nature-loving folks at Perrie-aire.

Actually, changing automatic transmission fluid at the required interval is VERY important.

If left to the point where it is worn out, changing it at that point can actually cause the transmission to fail. This is a well documented fact.

Something about the varnish and other junk of the old fluid actually maintaining the obnormally worn parts (due to the lack of service), and when it's removed the new fluid can't do the same thing and the transmission fails.

I hear it happens pretty quickly too.

Ah, that explains it. That's probably a better choice than even nitrogen...

And they're probably right to not have one. The periodic filter changes and the required top up oil is likely adequate provided the system doesn't become contaminated. Our little Cubs don't have internal clutches or brakes to throw quantities of wear metals into the system...

I change my hydro fluid once a year whether it needs it or not.

Then I'd probably be plenty safe changing it every 500 hours rite!

I would say yes, more than safe. If they wanted it changed at particular intervals I'm sure they'd say so. They could sell more $9 a quart Drive System Fluid that way...
