My brother is looking at an L3600 with a gst. It is about 10 years old with 1300 hrs. It has been well maintained. Any concerns with gst systems or with the L3600?
Used to have a L3600. Give the front end a good check where the pivot pin is placed under the radiator. if this is worn the front end pilot shaft will wobble and cause the front end gears to fail . check the steering cyl also loose pin will allow the cyl. shaft to push out the seal causing loss of fluid directly from transmission.
There is a metal cap at bottom of each steering pins next to wheels held in place with "O" ring remove and if metal is there the gears are expensive. A small amout of oil will flow but not much when this cap is removed but found it is a good check for wear.
Rest of tractor is good .

Take the serial number to your local dealer and have him look at the history on the warranty screen.
In that vintage of GSTs (00 and 10 series, L35) , the GST clutch carrier could break at the snap ring groove and the clutch pack would unload. Kubota helped original owners for 7 years on parts and labor and parts only on the last few years but that program expired over 5 years ago. The new carrier was thicker on the back face so the groove would not break through.
If the update was not done, that is the only concern I would have on a '00 series GST - otherwise the old 8 speeds are great.
One other little idiosynchrasy is there is a slight delay when shifting 4 to 5 going up a hill as there are two shifts happening at that time. If you can live with it, there is nothing to fix - otherwise look at a 30 series or 40 series which are electrohydraulic on the GST shifting.
