I'm in the process of purchasing a new place with about two and a half acres of lawn. I'd really rather not mow it all; if I just let it grow over the summer will it have any value as hay? Is such a small plot even worth the effort for someone to cut and use, provided of course, that it comes up as actual hay? Inputs appreciated.

I doubt that you would have any takers. Unless your tract is in the immediate vicinity of other hay fields, the time and expense of transporting the mower. tedder. rake, baler, and harvested hay wouldn't make it worthwhile.

Nope, 2 acres isn't worth messing with unless your next door neighbor wants it. You could pave it and paint it green? :D

I have 10 acres that nobody wants. Or if they do, the field is last to be cut. They need to take care of their own fields first. So .. I bought my own hay equipment.
