Gripe on Image Sizes

Images are now resized automatically.

That image I uploaded was reduced from 5 mb to about 2.1. Size restriction is now 2500 pixels in any one direction. Should keep most images down to the 1-3mb range. Better than nothing.

I was guilty of this in the past and I now have a system where I export from photo application to a folder on my desktop. In that process I have the option of reducing the size of the file. Most of my pictures now are 500-700KB. Want take the opportunity to apologize to my fellow TBNers for my past behavior and being just downright lazy with uploading the original photo.

I always resize from my PC before uploading but I haven't figured out how to do it on my android phone.

Yes, please, my internet is slow and too many folks use max pixels.

I uploaded a 5 MB image from my phone to another forum today and just saved it from that forum to my PC. Their site downsized it to 201kb. Same happens if you upload to FB and copy it back down so there must be a way to code in a resize.

I have two photo management software programs. Having TBN do the resizing will save me a few steps.
I've always resized to 3mb or less. Uploads a whole lot faster.

Wasn't there a small limit on photos here in the beginning, 200k or so?

I recall some photos failed upload with a 'too large' error message.
