New Holland TT-55
Does anyone know why the gears on my New Holland 2014 TT-55 tractor w/ 1650 hours have started to grind when shifting? It makes crunchy noises when I try to shift into 1,2, and reverse, but allows shifting into 3 and 4. It typically starts to work properly once the engine is fully warmed up, but will still grinds intermittently. Just started doing towards the end of my last big project which required a lot of start and stop and shifting while moving 20+ tons of forestry mulch to the burn pile. We cleared a couple of fence lines and wooded areas with a forestry mulcher machine. I'm thinking it's a problem w/ my clutch pedal being too loose. Thanks, Tim

Clutch pedal too loose? Not your moist common clutch related problem. Usually as a clutch wears free play diminishes and pedal becomes tighter over time. If yours it too loose maybe you should investigate why.

You should have something like this. The threaded clevis at the bottom should be adjusted so you have about an inch or so of pedal free play. If you can't make that happen, then you have a problem somewhere, possibly internal.
