Does any body have any grey market dealers that are recommended in the south carolina,north carolina area and georgia.

hi, I bought my YM1700 from Arch, in western N.C. Other than a oil pressure switch going bad and a broken tach cable, it has been flawless for 2 years. He was very nice and had a large selection. Heres a link:

He advertises the following on his website (per the link you posted): "All tractors are brought to 95% of original specifications."

How on earth does one measure that? Is that for each part? A 95% tire is great, but a 95% piston or ring isn't so great. How about a 5% worn crankshaft? Just seems to me when someone tosses numbers like that out there, there ought to be some explanation of how such a number/measurement is arrived at.

Is that how you crawled to the top of the heap by makeing derogatory comments about other dealers? How would you like someone knocking what was on your website? Does it bother you that bad that I recomended another dealer because I felt like I had gotten good treatment and service from the tractor I purchased from him? I would really hope anyone would research more than my recomendation anyway.

Not trying to stir any trouble here. But, what does Remanufactured by Zen-Noh mean ??. I have a yanmar that came from fredricks. They put the Zen-Noh decals on the tractor

The statement I listed is a direct quote from that site. By "derogatory" do you mean "pointing out potentially misleading advertising"? You posted the link to the website...you brought it up. I just went to it, did some reading, and posed a question based on a statement made there. And my question stands. If someone told me a tractor was brought to 95% of original specs, I would want to know how that was measured. Seems simple enough to me. I quite frankly don't know how that can be done. We will tell customers what we do in our processing, but I would never claim a certain % of original specs as I have no clue how one could determine or document that.

So to everyone...in all seriousness....how could anyone determine that a machine was brought to a given % of original specifications?

And BTW, I continue to be serious in my inquiry, as I was in the original post. If you choose to be sarcastic again, that's on you. We didn't crawl anywhere, and wherever it is that we are located in the "heap" as you reference it is primarily due to consistently being as straightforward with our customers and as diligent with our processing/repairs as we can be.

I just dont know why you found it neccesary to take a jab at the dealer I recommended, as if trying to say he wasnt honest. All I was trying to do was help the guy, like I have been helped before.I have nothing to gain whether he buys from where I posted, you or anyone else. I simply posed a question based on a claim made on the website you linked. Why would you presume that question to "say he wasnt honest"? Can you explain how one could measure or document 95% of original specifications? I know I can't. Yes, I see such a claim as stretching credibility, but do (and did earlier) acknowledge there may be a means to measure this that I don't understand. Maybe someone else here can explain how such a measurement could be documented.

And if I misread your statement of "Is that how you crawled to the top of the heap" as sarcastic when you really didn't mean it so, then I apologize to you for making the assumption. It sounded sarcastic to me, but in all fairness I should have asked you your intent before assuming.

It could be done this way . take the entire tractor ( or 95%) apart & measure all the parts with micrometers to known factory specs. This is the only way I know it could be done

Sorry, Yammerslammer! I know you love your tractor and respect the dealer. It's just that his advertising is a little over the top.
