Grey-market parts problems?

Are any of you grey-market Yanmar owners running into problems getting repair parts? I recently heard that Yanmar is attempting to phase in a policy that all parts inquiries from dealers will require the model number and serial number of the tractor involved. According to what I heard, the company is targeting "greys". The implication is that if the part is for a grey-market Yanmar, even though it's a valid part for a US-spec "official" Yanmar, they won't let the dealer buy it. Anyone had any experience with this?

Len was able to gat me the parts to do the headgasket on my 2310. It's basically the same as a 276. Also I live close to Tom Fredricks father, and he says they have no problem getting parts.
