Just joined after I bought a "70's model Ford 3000 diesel. As soon as I began to run it at home it died after 10 mins of use. I let it cool off and it started again. I thought that it might be trash in the fuel. After running it for 10-15 mins each time, it continues to die out, and now the RPM's will rev up just before it dies out. So, I thought I better look for some advice on the internet, and wound up here. I am thinking that I will take it to the mechanic tomorrow, but will be embarrased if its simply a filter. Welcome aboard. Do you know how long the Diesel Fuel has been in the tank? Is it gelled? Just a thought.

I'd make sure the fuel shut off is opened it is on the right side by the back of the fuel tank (mine leaks thru some fuel even when shut off... counterclockwise is open,
just a thought- don't ask me how I know this can happen, it is also possible this is not your problem but I would check this first..
