We live right on the St.Lawrence SeaWay;record high water levels this year.Lots of destruction of water-front property;docks under water and shore erosion.This also has messed up the fishing for sure;most species are late spawning this year.Dangerous boating with lots of debris in the water.
Record water releases right now at Massena;360,000 cubic ft.per second.The problem with this is that it creates strong currents and effects shipping.

Yes, all the lakes are full or near full. Superior is predicted to hit a record high this summer and the boats are hauling heavy, full cargo's. Bad news is steel sales are falling off and USS is shutting down two furnaces shortly.

Great thread. I grew up about 25 miles north of Port Huron. We always loved watching the 1,000 footers on Huron, but then especially when we went to Port Huron and hung out on the river. Been over the Blue Water Bridge many times. Used to vacation in Canada sometimes and also every time we went to Niagra Falls, we went through Canada.

Whenever I go up and visit family, I always want to spend time watching the ships.
