Just in from putz-in around in the barn, and covered in grease. Nothing unusual about that, but tonight's latest rag maker got me to thinking. What do you all do for lube on the top link on the 3pt? Since i haven't gotten to the top&tilt yet, :(:( I have the threaded eye bolts type top link. Threaded eye bolt on each end of a threaded tube... My problem is the thing seems to always be covered in grease, which chooses to jump off on my hand, pants, shirt, ... every chance it gets... :ashamed: SO. Does anyone have an answer for lube that doesn't bind up, louse effectiveness, collect dust or jump on passing innocent bystanders?
What's on there now is plain old grease right out of the tube. Have used oil, and it then drips all over the place. Candle wax didn't get it either, to stiff to turn. Metal to metal would rust solid in short order so that isn't an option either. Any other suggestions?

Fluid Film, best for all the 3pt things. seat track, etc. stays in place Not to nasty, don't smell too bad, easy to apply, They "hooked" me with the free sample, been using it ever since. Really like it.

I have been using a zep product called Zep45. Has worked great for me. It has several additives including Teflon that stay on even when it looks dry

Motorcycle chain lube? The carrier evaporates and leaves a graphite film.

Thanks all,
Have used graphite on different things, but the graphite is like the grease, will rub off pretty easily onto best pair of jeans.... Haven't tried the chain lube, may be better.
Banjo, Looking at the information for the CU800, it looks like a hi temp anti seize lube with copper in it. I have used some lube with copper in it long time ago for turban work, but it was just a copper grease. More like thin oily grease that went everywhere. Worked great, but really messy! Also looks for a home on my best jeans... :D Am I missing something?
Deere, the Teflon idea has possibilities, and K0ua I have seen the Fluid Film around someplace if I can just remember where. I will see which of these I can dig up first and give them a try. I will post results.Thanks.
I guess i could just wrap both ends with Teflon tape. Hadn't thought of that one, but should work. Anyone tried this with any success?
Think I will start looking for a new pair of jeans while I'm looking.

Update: Just received my "Fluid Film" and spent the day seeing what I could wipe it on. Also read the thread on here about the stuff. Should a looked there first.. DUH! Any way, so far so good. Seem to make almost everything it touched look better, but thought I should stop and see how it holds up before I just pour it over the entire tractor... Wondering if it is a dust/dirt magnet and whether i will soon be 1 big grease ball. What say ye?
Thanks for the heads up, it is why I like this place!
