Grease.

I used Lucas Red & Tacky for awhile but got tired of the dripping. Switched to Lucas XTra HD green and no problems since.

I use JD's green grease for most things. I haven't noticed any dripping... but it isn't hot where I live.
Lucas Xtra HD green has very similar specs to JD's green grease.

Come to think of it, I do recall that there is a temperature spec for greases that applies to dripping.

If I'm remembering right, some greases were in a range that you might get to on a hot day in a box in the sun, but then there were others - maybe more expensive greases - that were about 100F higher.

And grease compatability turns out to be a real problem. My buddy had some mix and harden. Difficult to get out.

Like a powered grease gun that I was once gifted.
The dry grease was so hard that I almost needed a drill to get it out.
It had probably lived over the furnace!

Those cheaper greases are actually clay and we all have seen what clay looks like under hot desert suns.

Apparently incompatable greases form some sort of chemical reaction and hardens like concrete

When I got tired of cleaning up the dripped grease/oil where my gun is stored, I installed a clamp bracket made for hanging it on the wall and screwed a pill bottle to the wall beside it. Insert the coupler in the bottle and all the mess is contained.

I just keep grease guns, grease tubes, and rags in a 5 gallon plastic bucket. Well, actually make that two buckets..... because I keep that horrible nasty staining moly grease and gun in its own bucket.
Then only use the moly in a couple of special locations. Hate the stuff, but it sure does reduce friction.

This tube has been in my vehicle in 90 degree weather with no separation at all.

I remember emailing them with this and that's indeed what they said. But I am uncomfortable with the whole proprietary thing. You are locked in to always buying their product because they package it in a proprietary container. So you have to use their dispenser and their greases and you can't ever change without buying all new everything.

I can't reward, with my patronage, any company that uses such a marketing device.
Lube-shuttle also sells empty tubes that allow you to choose any brand of grease.
