This is normal. The hole in the piece of rubber by the jaws is very small. Never fear it will pump grease. Now the knurled adjustment is to loosen the front portion that contains the jaws is to loosen them so that you can get it back off of the zerk. Also pushing the coupler sideway gently can help remove it from the zerk. If you have clearence to push it sideways. Be carefull a lot of guys bust of Zerks. Make sure your coupler front half is loose BEFORE you snap it over a zerk or you will never get it off. Good luck.. call back if you don't understand what I said.

Call Back[/B]. this is a hand held grease gun. The last tube 2 or 3 pulls and I could hear and see the grease overflow. This tube I can squeeze 20,30 times with no noticable filling or overflow.

Remove the coupler on the end of the hose or tube and see if grease pumps without the coupler. You may have a defective grease cartridge or perhaps the plunger is stuck on the end of the cartridge and not pushing grease into the pump end of the gun.
