Grapple closed. I ended up using a 2x8 ram. I think I got more opening with it compared to the 2x6.

I used a W R Long brand hydraulic solinoid to power the grapple. Simple set up. Glad I went that route. I remember someone used a relay on theirs and if they read this please get back to me on how did you wire it. Thanks

I originally used a latching solenoid, might you be talking about that? If so it was quickly eliminated. Grapple is much easier to use without it.

How do you activate your grapple, where did you mount your switch?

What I meant was a relay for the switch. The Long set up came with a switch in the knob you replace on the loader valve arm.

Moe Moe -

Great Job! What do you figure you have invested in the total project?

I probably spent about $725. The electric solinoid from W.R. Long was $500 and ram was $70. Odds and ends about $150. I figure I'm way ahead by fabricating and welding up myself. Really pleased with it and unbelievable the many useages I've found for it not to mention saving my back.
