He's raised the bar again! I'll never catch up now - my shorts bunch up way too soon. The man is getting entirely too comfortable doin' the PT pucker. He'll be on the stunt show circuit before we know it.

What I wanna know is how you managed to set up these shots with hardly a snowfield in sight.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind to photograph him straightening out the machine and lifting that chunk of cherry up on the truck in front of him and then picking it back off and driving away with it. The device actually lifts pretty well.
And, if you don't need to grapple anything, the boom has a 2" receiver at the end to attach any number of other neat things. Two pins and the grapple's off.

No snow down here in Maryland - we're below the Mason Dixon line, remember?
But just in case some arrived, Bubenberg brought with him the "cheap" scraper blade that he described a few posts back.

Yeah, we got another 4-5 inches yesterday and I'll bet it got above 2 degrees down there today too. You guys are having way too much fun.

That picture clearly demonstrates the 12 degrees +- of oscillation.

i would like to thank first Charlie and his lovely wife for the wonderful weekend at their range and testing grounds. further i would like to thank the Clever Device Research and Development engineers for helping Charlie with the academic portion of the knuckle boom grapple study. Tony Iliff, the electronics engineer brother of Charlie for machining, welding and other, heating the R&D building, other wise referred to as Glue Factory. also thanks for all the fantastic help of Tony's friends. They worked right through the beginning of the Superbowl game.

this is my last year as PT test pilot ... i am eligible for SS this December. but will continue to serve on the cheap attachment committee.

please turn back to this station in a few weeks, we will need your impute for the R&D portion of a roll off/ trailer which will future the Stationary Clever Device Knuckle Boom Grapple, loading area for PT 400 and roll off dump container all located legally on a 10,000 capacity landscape trailer. that is all for now folks

A belated thanks, Herr B. It is a pleasure, but at times it has offered maintenance challenges as big as it is. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Now, if I can just manage to get that suction hose replaced....
