It's winter here so I object to calling it Spring.

Yep, and no Indian maid on Land O Lakes butter.
So all Cabot products in my refrigerator now, no land O lakes.
Even though it will not make a bit of difference,
never had Aunt Jemima syrup always the real stuff but it would fit the same catagory.

Houlton Farms, REAL dairy butter. Butter | Houlton Farms Dairy It's as good as what my aunt used to make in her electric churner, after my uncle got done milking the cows. Once you've been living on this, most other butter products taste like margarine.

Now we wait for PETA to get involved. No more Lions, Colts, or Bears.

I worked in the chicken industry for 30 years in accounting $ finance. PETA was a factor by pressuring our customers to require humane treatment, no problem there. Surprise audits came often. I had a PITA boss one time. I anonymously sign him up as a member. Really irritated him. :D

"Army Eyes Replacing Apache With FARA As Its 'Kick In The Door' Attack Helicopter." Run for the hills all you terrorist the FARA is coming, dont quite have the same ring. I forgot about the Apache helicopter til BCP hinted it but looks like the Army got the hint...

So whats in a name, sometimes not so much sometimes a lot. When one stops and think about it there a ton of Indian names across the country, ME still has lots of Indian names for towns, roads and mountains, some have been changed some still are used. Just recently Skowhegan school had to change their school mascot name to the new River Hawks, if schools ever play sports again, darned if I can remember the mascot name they did have couple years ago, might not be allowed to say it now, but even the towns name is an Indian name, lets change that to.

I just read where there is no more Aunt Jemima syrup and pancake mix anymore... Something called Pearls I think... WTH??? Are people going crazy??? :confused3:
Absolutely. The lady that posed for that logo and commercials got paid $$$$$ and wasn't offended by it. Probably happy as well. Why should anyone else be offended???

On a side note. None of that fake syrup is allowed in my house we always tapped the maple trees on our property and produced our own syrup growing up. So I have never cared for the store bought syrups.

After a few pancake breakfasts at our house, the grandkids started protesting the store bought syrup my daughter in law was trying to feed them. I caught h3ll for that one, and kept trying to hide my snicker when I was receiving the butt chewing from her for the kids refusing to eat her pancakes

I have friends and family that have their own sugar works, so I just buy syrup from them.

Once upon a time folks wanted a full size bed to go camping, hardly ever see these bed campers anymore, they must of handled like the Titanic.......

Beginning in 1969 I worked for a while, next door to a company that built truck cover campers. They cut the panels with a metal cutting bandsaw with a huge throat. It's the only one like that I ever saw. As I remember, the frames were of 2X wood and stapled together with a pneumatic stapler, gussetts might have been added for strength.

The oil embargo came along a few years later and I thought it was responsible for people getting away from heavy pickup covers with wooden frames. Wood rot and Mig welding taking hold probably made constructing frames from aluminum more affordable, too.

I tend to agree with the commentator though, something's a bit off with that scenario. What woman driving alone is going to stop and confront a carload of guys... no, she's going to call 911, she isn't going to stop, get out of her car, and start giving them a raft of crap. Well, maybe if she was accompanied by her friends, Mr Smith and Sr Wesson. How could she drive off without knowing that she hadn't unhooked from the pump? (I saw that happen once, and it was NOT a quiet event. Those hoses are tough.) Although a quick search does show many other instances of the same thing happening, sans the confrontation by laughing motorists.
