Style sells vehicles to be sure. Those 60s-vintage snub-nosed pickups were just weird. I'd imagine working on the engine would be a nightmare. I doubt there was much frontal protection in case of an accident either.

As far as Jeeps are concerned, if the number I see around here is any indication they're doing just fine, and not just the Wrangler. Probably see more Jeep SUVs than everyone else's combined.
Yes stile is very important, maybe thats why Jeep had to evolve from the square look a little, but they better watch out for the Bronco. Thats one reason I like the 03-07-ish Jeep Liberty, but now guess what, HISTORY and I wanted another one, I might have to go Ford again.
As far as stub nose pickups un safe, they're the same as vans and they're still selling good although now they'r changing more to a so call European stile, it just that stub nose pick still looks funky and not sure why........

Jeep is popular here...

Four 2018 or newer in the neighborhood and several late models in the work parking lot... also seem to be a cross over in that just as likely to see a Doc driving one as a receptionist.

Heck... the porch pirate that pilfered the neighborhood and my car several weeks back was driving a new Jeep.

Have I ever mentioned the merit of large wheels? Now your talking. I'm guessing no aftermarket non-sense. And he wheels don't even look too circus wagon like! Just out of the box. If only the UTV manufacturers would get the message about BIG WHEELS!

I think most people already have inbred gene stile characteristics cause for some reason the stub nose Ford Econoline pickup never really took off, all it is is a van with a pickup body but nope we dont want it, although the video below might show a couple reasons why.

Almost the same with the early 60s Jeeps, didn't want them either well everyone but me I'd love to have a Jeep FC 4x4, but most didn't want a Jeep pickup at all but Jeep did finally bring one back, it wont last long either because of the already inbred human characteristics. Actually I think Jeep is barely hanging on the only thing that keeps them going is the Wrangler because theres just enough die hard Jeep lovers.....

the Jeep Wrangler is separated from other "SUVs" for one very important reason. I'll let you figure out what that is. :)

Liberty is not a "Jeep". Neither is a Bronco. No comparison. :)

Seems that many people here go for the more cultured Limy Rover here. Or that ugly Similar Boxy Mercedes. Neighbor had one. Worlds biggest pile of expensive junk!
