Grand L4240 heating

My tractor with a bit over 350 hours has recently started showing four bars on the temp gauge rather than the three I normally see. Although this isn't overheating, I'm concerned. I've flushed the coolant, blown air through the radiator, checked the air filters, and oil levels. I'm stumped.:confused3:

Mine runs 4 on cool days and warm days it runs 5 or when mowing.

I would have to assume that your tractor's cooling system has a thermostat like a car - change it.

My L4240 normally runs 4 bars any time of the year.Check "both"screens in front of your radiators,yes there are two.Blow/wash them out also.

Mine L3940 runs 4 bars once warmed up. 4 bars in normal operating temperature. Maybe your sensor, gauge, or thermostat is a little mis calibrated. Philip.

My 5240 has always ran four bars once warmed up since it was new, about 370 hours now. In hot weather running the brush hog, hay baling equipment, loader work, backhoe, or whatever it is four bars. In winter even down below zero it still warms up and runs at four bars. Do you have a infrared temp gun? Maybe check some surface temps on the block and see what it is at.

I keep a good eye on the screen because I use the tractor to stir up my huge pile of composting horse manure and the stuff does end up on the screen.
