I have a question. All the videos I watch never puts a crown in the driveways. They just drag and leave it. But then I hear you should have a crown so water can drain off the sides. So which is it? Crown or no crown? I have 1300 feet of gravel drive and only about 8 feet wide. I can do it but kinda hard to crown it with a 6 foot grader.

None of mine have a crown, but they drain well anyway. They aren't level side to side. The water all goes to one side or the other according to the slant.

You need drainage, either crowned or slanted.

It helps to have all the tools for the various jobs but most of us have to make do. I do use the 4' lpgs on narrow drives. A rear blade is best for building up the crown and a landscape rake can also do this after a fashion.

jk96: Wow! That is quite an improvement! My drive isn't quite that bad, but I bought a Woods 84" grading scraper last Thursday anyway. Hasn't been delivered yet, but I'm hoping to get it next week sometime. Can't wait to try it out. Vic

I have the 84" Woods grader as well. I pull it with my LS XR4046HC which is plenty of power for it.

Would this work as well on a straight dirt (no gravel) hard packed road?

Yes.
I would not disturb the hard pack more than needed to smooth it up enough to drive on. That would be true for any implement though.
