They'r ok for light snow plowing or knocking down a pile of gravel, or scraping out the barnyard for little $$, but that's really about all they can do. Don't expect to level a hillside. As for make or model, just get one a little wider than your machine and look for strudy components. What is your expected use?
Now the bigger (heavier) blades that fit up to a 80-100 hp tractor with multi angling abilities will cut a pretty good ditch.

A boxblade, with rippers, may be a better alternative for you.

I have 2 rear blades, one heavy and one light. I like the light one for pulling the gravel back into the road. I angle with just a little tilt go down one side and back on the other. Then turn it backwards go down the middle. Done!! The heavy blade diggs in and I only use it to cut a ditch. It's hard for me to control for just pulling stuff back into the road, it pulls up to many big rocks. Just make sure you get one wide enough when it is angled it covers your tires about 6 or 8".

I can certainly see where one could use a box blade as well as a grader blade. Therein lies the ultimate answer...each implement serves its purpose. In my case a grader would be of most use most of the time. A box blade would certainly have its uses but would be something I look into later (unless I find that money tree)!
Anyway, I appreciate the info and links all have provided!
Looking for a well built grader to help with material movement. Need the ability to tilt and angle. Otherwise I would just use the loader.

Our ETA value scrape blades would work great with your tractor. They're built really well and have tilt, angle and offset functions.

I don't know your area but I found that you need curl to effectively move snow. No curl and it will steer your rears right off the road.

Yes, if the blade is straight up and down then it's like pushing against a wall. You can adjust your toplink to increase/reduce the curl.
