I am in need of assistance in the proper adjustment of the governor and injection pump. The manual I purchased from Hoye Tractor is very vague and the picture quality is very poor. When I loosen the acorn nut and jamb nut I put throttle in wide open, looked for machine marked dot on injection pump and pulled the governor actuating rod towards spring. The actuation is stiff in movement and the spring is loose. But I can get the rod to move and it stays, shouldn’t it move freely not stiff? Should I remove the injection pump and see if there is wear or debris preventing free easy movement? Previous owner removed the hydraulic pump and governor assembly and adjusted the pump so it ran max rpm. I could not get the tractor to idle below 1500 rpm and started seeing what parts were missing and I knew hydraulic pump was missing but had no idea the governor assembly was missing. Long story short I’ve got all the parts to put back together. Should the governor spring stay under load(tension)? Currently it only has tension when full throttle is applied.

You will get almost no help in this section of the forum. We do have a YM Yanmar section found here where plenty of gurus can help you. :)
