Did anyone sign on for that classaction lawsuit for the various lawnmower engine manufactures, where they were falsely inflating HP #'s. I think there were some posts about this a yr or so ago, and i think i chimed in then.
Anyway i was given a not running MTD mower. I filed in the suit and just friday received my check!! Again i did not buy this mower and dont care if i loose my benifets to .... B/c of it. It originally was suposed to be $25 for push mowers and $75 for riders. Well the letter came and said due to the volume of folks enrolled blah blah. My share for a rider was only $27. But this also came with a one yr certificate of warrenty (for engine repair i guess) to repair the motor of mechanical defects untill the yr 2012(march). Heck i was given this mower and had to clean the junk out of the carb, it has no hood or electrical system due to heat issues from the owner who;s plastic hood melted and he tore it off, he cut the electronics cause there was a short, so i just jump start it to start it and reuce the throttle till it chokes out as the carb does not run smooth at low rpms ( i looked fuel and neglect arent covered which is what caused that).
This mower dosent owe me a thing as we have cut the 3 acres or so grass at the farm 4 times now. As well as cutting my yard here in town for most of last season. A spindle bearing was going out so i got one at agrisupply to put in it and it should be good for another yr untill the other wears out.
