Well it wasn't a hole but due to the cold weather the pressure dropped a little. While driving today I noticed the tire was squatting a little more than normal but instead of going back to air it up I figured since all I was doing was using the tire chains on the rear tire to ruff up the driveway for better traction and not putting any weight on the front tires (like FEL work) I would be OK.

Well as the title points out, I was wrong. Without thinking I put the tractor into 4wd and I could see the steel wheel slip a little on the tire and next thing I knew I broke the bead and had to limp back to the garage to fix the flat. I didn't pay much attention but the tractor wheels don't have the lip that car/ truck wheels have that keeps the tire bead in place when the pressure is low.

Next time I'll know better.

It's happened to me so many times that I check before every use and don't let them get below 30psi. Usually closer to 40.

I picked up a nail in the front right tire last sunday morning putting the plow and blower on for the storm. Set me back an hour. Had to go to the store for a plug repair kit, and then dig out the air compressor. All is well and the plug seems to be holding up just fine.
