Does your exhaust/muffler burn your grass when you stop and leave the motor running?

I have not had that problem with my X500, although I typically do not leave it running for long when I'm not using it. If I do leave it running, I just let it idle.

Theres a post about this in the owner operating section(brown spots while mowing) fellow has a cub cadet I believe.I guess some JD,s have this issue also.It comes from the HOT muffler.I guess you will have to trade for a diesel.LOL.

My 2010 X360 looked as good as it did, 4 years later(115 hours)))))))
I'm sure my X534 will look as good, I take care of my stuff.

No, it does not. I've had my x534 since Spring of 2010 and never seen this happen and I stop and leave the mower running all the time while mowing. I will get off and clear some branches that have fallen from trees or when picking up leaves to put in the cart. I don't stop for long, less than 5 minutes. How long are you idling in one place?

Last Friday, I mowed, and I let the motor idle, got off the mower, laid on the ground, after 1 minute, 2 at the most, I could not leave my arm lay on the grass, under the muffler.
It was that hot, I think there is about a foot from the grass to the muffler.
You don't actually see the muffler, you are seeing the heat shield.
The heat shield runs the full width of the frame.
My service guy at my selling dealer says Deere does NOT have a fix for this?
He says Deere had a problem with this way back in 2007, ya right.

Come on peeps, I need some ideas here.
I stopped the mower to let the wife try it out, left the motor running.
This was yesterday, now, today, I have 4/5 brown spots in my grass.
Looks like the hot exhaust browned the grass, my X360 never did this.
Thoughts?
