Amazing on your finding 32' long beams of that size!

Also, respectfully, is your truck rated for that amount of weight?

Nice to see a project finally getting put to good use. Nice work

Holy crap, way to put that trailer to work right away. Great restoration, by the way.

How did you load/unload those trestle beams? And what are your plans for them?

Truck tow ratings are just guidelines.

Thanks. A skid steer does pretty good work moving them around. I've been building a cabin and these timbers will be used for an open air porch.

Considering an architect did first class on that trailer the cabin is probably nothing short of a work of art.(y)

Awww, shucks. Thanks for the compliment! Here's a photo of the place. The Mrs and I are building it ourselves. 100% self performed. Of course, it's taken us over a decade to get to the point of trimming out the interior. We'll work on it over the holidays and weekends buying materials along the way so we don't need to borrow money.

That cabin is delightful, thanks for sharing. Are you at all worried that the creosote timbers will be kinda smelly and greasy for a porch?

When I moved the first batch I was recovering from Covid and still couldn't smell. I definitely have my sense of smell back because these have some funk to them! I was thinking about that this morning and was wondering if maybe pressure washing them would help. I'd have to figure out how much pressure would be required to clean the surface. I'm guessing 4,000+.
