A couple months ago I changed my email to a gmail address. Everything worked OK until I got a smartphone. To add contacts on the phone, I had to create a Google account. Couldn't find my gmail password, so I set up a new password with Google & the phone problem was solved.

BUT, now my gmail doesn't work, invalid password apparently. Grumble, grumble.

How to fix this?

Can I delete my Google account and set up a new one using my old gmail address? Would that even work, or would Google say the email address was already in use even though I had deleted it?

Is there another, simpler way?

Well, now it's working!

Don't ask me why.

Maybe it's because technology has passed me by (and I'm a retired electronics tech by trade) but I encountered the same thing when I bought my new Samsung Galaxy Ace II.

I only bought it because my old mobile's bluetooth died after 7 years. All I ever want the mobile for is the odd text or phone call. As I couldn't be bothered to go 'gmail' I didn't go ahead with it.

Life is simpler that way. [I'm old(er) and set in my ways.]
