I like the picture of the wind damaged trees. Ya, it looks horrible, too bad it is not the actual event but rather a "stock image" of destruction.

Not saying I am a proponent of cutting trees but the actual cutting would be nice.

I could not locate the story but a homeowner here, who's house was across a state highway so he couldn't see the canal very well because all those darn trees had grown to tall. The canal is seen in the below photo of Houghton MI and here in the northern hardwoods, trees are everywhere and grow like weeds. To help with his view of the canal, he hired a sawyer to cut them down so when he asked if he had permission or was it his property? He said "yes".. This was a hill across the highway which was basically the ditch of Highway 41. He got them cut down about the same time a state truck showed up and was asked what he was doing to the state owned property and of course, he said he was under contract with the fellow across the road. The state DOT was not happy to have there trees cut and the roads ditch not supported. It was a steep ditch.
