Good Tractor safety Website?

A friend who has never driven a tractor wants to learn. I want to make sure he gets the safety basics before we start. Can you suggest a website that is particularly good?

I told him to read some of the posts here, but I would like to send him to a site designed to teach people with no experience.

You gave him some good advice. Have him surf TBN...especially the Safety Forum for a good, long time. Hopefully he will read this and become a member. Then he can ask his own questions. I can't imagine a more knowledge bunch of tractor folk anywhere on the planet!

Unfortunately, you can't learn how to operate a machine by reading about it. You have to do it. If he's properly versed in safety precautions and has a fundamental understanding of how his particular tractor works (gear, hydro, clutch, PTO, loader, etc.) and starts slow, he'll come up to speed in no time.

Oh, and Muhammad's book is always a good place to start for general info, especially for beginners.

Have him do a search on "Tractor safety" and several sites will come up.

Kubota has a good basic tractor safety web page. It even includes sections on safe use of the basic implements.

I would look up and see if the local farm bureau has literature or a website dealing with tractor related accidents / fatalities... I had heard they did... let him read those...
