Watched Top Gun-Maverick last night. It was no "Gone With the Wind", but it was worth watching all the way through. I did nod off for about 10 minutes just as the action started, but rewound it enough to see what I missed. I had a little difficulty making the connection all of the characters had with each other...a critical part of the movie...but all in all, I give it a 7.5 out of 10. Sharon Jean watched about 15 minutes and she bailed out.

We watched this yesterday. Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. A simple premise, two old friends walking the Appalachian trail.
If you like odd movies, 1968 "The Swimmer". Burt Lancaster visits a friend then decides to swim the 8 miles home going pool to pool.

+1 on A Walk In The Woods. I'd read the book several years before seeing the movie. The weird woman hiker who was critical of everything had a much larger role in the book.

Just curious...Anyone seen a movie titled 'The Further Adventures of Tennessee Buck' ??

It's got some very funny dialog and also has some titillating scenes with Kathy Shower (playmate of the year 1986)

The film was like a Rosetta Stone for returning military, translating their war-zone experiences for civilians. “So many soldiers would come up to me like, ‘This is something I cannot explain to my wife. Now she can watch and have a ******* understanding of what the **** I’m talking about.’ And it helped their marriage. They were going to get divorced. They’re done. This guy did like eight tours—******* eight tours. Insane.” Renner’s eyes well up with tears as he recalls the episode. “This is not cinema,” he explains. “We’re not talking about people sitting at this theater and eating popcorn and watching a movie. A different thing was happening.” The depth of the response bowled him over. “It was amazing, man. I don’t get that out of a Marvel movie.” Jeremy Renner
