I t hought the 1953 version with Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwick was a good film too.
Solomon's Mines is another movie for which I've only read the book. I also read "Jaws" before seeing the movie. In the book. Hooper had an affair with Brady's wife, and died in the shark's jaws. They must have changed that for the movie so that they could have a sequel...

I watched The Terminal over the weekend. Tom Hanks.
It is quite good and uplifting.

My wife recommended finding a DVD of "Gettysburg." Apparently there are three or four versions. Any ideas which is preferable?

We watched a reel [SIC] stinker last night...the title was 'Tentacles'
It was from 1977 and was likely meant to grab an audience left over from the 'JAWS' mania...(lots of similar sequences and similarities)
...If it were not for the cast it likely would have been avoided but some of the names were intriguing...i.e, John Houston, Henry Fonda, Shelly Winters, Claude Akins...
...Well let me tell you...I think it was an inside joke where the cast (especially those mentioned above) tried to see who could be the biggest ham on the set...it was so bad it was funny...besides the dialog it was just a bunch of chaotic scenes that were just patched together with a lot of cliches thrown in...!

Watched a classic last night...the old Bogart movie, "Casablanca" on Blu-ray. Movie was great...probably the first time I watched it with no commercials.
I have a few other Bogart movies coming..."The Caine Mutiny" has been delivered...."The Maltese Falcon" (my favorite Bogart flick) and "The African Queen" are both on their way...
Wet day outside, so no outdoors's work, I guess...maybe it's a "Caine Mutiny" day...

If you're a Bogart fan, you should watch "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" if you haven't already. One of my all time favorite movies. It's in black and white, but well done. There is a colorized version out there; I have a VHS recording somewhere, but no way to play it.
