Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 38° heading to a high of 39° and partly cloudy. You can almost smell the snow coming. Seems like they're talking anywhere between 1"-5" with 3" being the current favorite.
As promised, here's the picture with the snowblower mounted, and yes, I did get the lean out of it finally:
A pipe wrench and an embarrassing amount of time later, it's finally level. Makes a Top 'n Tilt kit seem like a solid investment after futzing with that **** adjustable piece of **** (The dog learned lots of new words while I was working on it, especially when the wrench slipped and I banged my knuckles against the rear fender.) Tractor also needed a regen after all the light work of the summer/fall. So it was humming away at that while I worked on the hitch.
Fortunately, that was the hardest part. PTO was already cut to size and fits easily, the collar type connector is better than the spring pin that I'm used to on the brush hog for my father's tractor. Tractor is fueled, greased. Snow-push is mounted and resting, snowblower is on, leveled, greased and oiled. Let it Snow!
Mom shoved off for the finger lakes, Dad is still chasing deer and the dog is moping because no one is around to constantly pay attention to her.
Woodcutting this week got the heave-ho due to the forecast, Still unknown about the Great Firewood Gathering Session, but time will tell.
Got the pins I wanted cleaned up with some steel wool and WD-40.
L4N: Looks like the snow came back with a vengeance!
Re Swiss Army Knives: I still have the very expensive Swiss Army knife given to me by the Jaguar Owner when I was a Boy Scout, The thing felt like the size of a brick at the time. When I first started hunting I carried an old school Buck knife (Still have it too!). When I was landscaping, I had a SOG multitool that got me out of numerous pinches with both equipment and sometimes when a branch was a little too big for the loppers I was carrying, the saw on that pulled through. Now, I have a couple OTF knives at work for opening the multitude of boxes.
mostly, thanks for always catching up. It doesn't go unappreciated!
Thomas, keep putting one foot in front of the other! Slow and steady wins the race!
Drew: Re favorite ornaments. My mother has pig related ornaments for all of us. Mine is a snowboarding pig. She still has every single ornament my sister and I ever made, and our tree every year goes from us being little to now her grandson's first Christmas. It's truly wonderful to gaze upon every year and see how our family has flourished.
All not specified, Y'all stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for all ailing and recovering!
