Good morning!!!!

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low was a frosty 1.2C and it's presently 16.9C, mostly cloudy & fairly calm.

Yesterday's PO run was straight forward and I even scored "Hollywood parking". (y) The 'Mad Agisting Horse Woman' texted to postpone the horse transfer until Saturday, so I'll prepare Paddock #5 on Friday.

Nothing really 'on' for today.

That's about it, take care all.

Came home to tractor problems today. Tractor started and ran fine yesterday, although it was only for about 5 minutes. Tonight had planned on dropping mower and putting disc on to bust up garden before the rain later this week.

Turn key no turn over, no click, nada. I knew terminals were clean but removed and cleaned anyway, part of list, lol. Checked 50 and 60 amp fuses, also seem fine. Battery checked with meter at 12.8volts. Even put charger on just for kicks, no change. No lights on dash dim when keys is turned.

Even tried to jump at starter, no dice. By then it was dark, so packed up and will brainstorm until tomorrow night.
When my BX does that, it's usually the hydro pedal no quite in the right position, or I forgot and left it in gear instead of neutral.

Nice day outside, once things warmed up a bit.
Got back field and along creek mowed, probably last mowing except to do the leaves.
used FEL to move the log blocking access from road along the creek, moved it back some so I can get mower past it, but still blocks larger vehicles.
Mixed more roundup for the wife, sprayed a bunch. stopped mower and told wife I mixed roundup, and where I had sprayed and how much was left. After all that She says, Oh, I need some round up mixed up. And she complains I don't listen. :ROFLMAO:
changed SD card on camera down at creek, but haven't looked yet.
Moved some of the old 16 ft deck boards that have been piled on top of my old picnic table in back yard. Discovered a bunch of carpenter ants in them, they did some damage. Ants made big hole in picnic table board also. Then moving other old boards and found a bunch more. I sprayed them all. All this old pressure treated lumber.
got out battery chain saw and made lots of short boards out of long boards, firepit sized. Kept a few long ones and put behind the barn.

Sorry about the picnic table and boards.

Given what has been used in older pressure treated lumber, I'm not sure I would want to be anywhere near the old PT if it is being burned. Some of the stuff I used when I was a kid is now solidly in the hazardous waste category (e.g. "penta", pentachlorophenol), and some types are/were organic and could turn up in the smoke and fumes.

But maybe yours is just plain old copper arsenate.

All the best, Peter

Likely the starter solenoid. Try to put power to the solenoid terminal and if there is no click it is a faulty solenoid
Really the only time in one's life, that a ball-peen hammer becomes a legitimate mechanic's diagnostic tool. :ROFLMAO:

First, confirm you're actually getting 12V to the solenoid coil terminal when key is turned to start, as any one of a half-dozen interlocks or the fuse could be interrupting that circuit. If 12V at both solenoid coil and battery hot terminal are confirmed, then someone hold the key in start, while you tap on/around the starter solenoid with the hammer.

I've never seen a stuck solenoid on a tractor, it's usually something we see on on-road vehicles due to road salt and rust. But I guess it could happen on a tractor that's seen a lot of weather.

👍👍 on the ball peen hammer being a legitimate diagnostic tool.🤣

I've had stuck solenoids on a tractor, twice on the same tractor. When I brought in my old starter in, the clerk mentioned that Bosch's solenoid on that model starter were prone to failure.🤷‍♂️ I didn't buy Bosch a second time, and the generic has lasted four times longer than the Bosch did. N=1

The tractor had not seen a lot of weather, but had been washed down occasionally, although never with strong water spray near the starter.

All the best,

Peter

Drew some truck came through on GA aircraft radios. I lost control of a R/C aircraft when flying near US 63. CB radios had a reputation for having a "dirty" signal and the linear amps just made it that much worse.
Ken sorry about too little time between job end and sun set, going to get worse next week. Nice buck.
Dennis sorry about the lost originals. Sure is a cool pic.
Bill thanks for the CB story.
ArlyA sorry you are getting so much rain.
Dennis thanks for posting link. Wonder how hard it was to run two locomotives like that
David glad good mowing again on Wednesday. Please be safe!!!
RS sounds like you had good conversation with the driller.
RS hope you can get a hold of the firm that did the fracking.
Thomas glad good day at work. Hope leaf control was successful after 2+ hrs with backpack blower.

40F and clear @ 04:30.

Checked fluids in Woman’s car first thing yesterday. All good except for windshield washer fluid which I topped off.

Got Menards order placed.

Formed 10 cages for arbs by joining the 4’ ends together and set them by shrubs.

Starting to see some damage probably due to buck rubbing his antlers on them.

He has almost destroyed the 2 burning bushes out front … 🤬

Coon came out of west woods walking across the lawn towards the garden.

Woman was weeding the flower bed so I alerted Her … since it’s a little unusual for them to be out during the day.

She suggested that I go get the varmint rapid disposal device which I did. Coon was gone by the time I got back.

Refilled Water Buffalo.

Watered the 10 arbs, 2 gallons each.

Also watered small peach tree, Japanese ornamental, red maple, ginkgo, and large Rose of Sharon, 4 gallons each.

Plus 2 of the smaller Rose of Sharon, 2 gallons each. One is now almost 4’ tall and the other is over 5’.

At that point the Buffalo was empty so I took it around back by the garden and dropped it.

More work on topping off dirt around posts and getting it tamped down.

Knocked off around 18:00, as sun was getting low and it was starting to get chilly.

Woman fixed some broiled flounder for my dinner with rice pilaf and corn. Tasty.

After dinner collected up garbage and took it up to the cans at the road and set those out.

Then headed down to Menards in Massillon to pick up order.

Stopped by Customer Service on the way in and returned items for store credit then back to the yard to pick up order.

Guy brought out order to load, was missing a 10’ stick of 3/4 black pipe.

He went back in and located it fairly quickly and brought it out.

Grabbed the mail on the way back in to the house.

Heater not working in van … possibly the heater control valve. Not workable for winter. Will probably just bypass the valve, can always just roll windows down if it gets too warm.

One item in Menards order was small cheap electric blanket. Works very well.

Woke up after an hour, overheated …

Going to try and go back to bed now.

Coffee is brewing. 40° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 56° with plenty of sunshine. Got oil changed in whole house generator after it finished it's weekly run. Then trimmed a couple of trees. Got grapple on tractor and moved limbs to chipper pile. Have some more limbs to trim today.

Good Morning All.

Morning all!
29 going to a partly cloudy 50.
My bones are not liking this cold weather!
Spent yesterday picking up all the freezable items and getting them put away. Rearranged and cleaned out the attached garage so the generator is available if needed. Also a few hours with the back pack blower prepping for cleaning up today with the vac.
Breakfast with the neighbor first though. Then a quick stop at the apartment to drop of recycles.

I need to figure out what I can do to my front door handle. It is a round ball that I can no longer squeeze hard enough to open. Will start looking for a replacement online. Will need some kind of paddle I think.
Managed to get a 10 by 5 cherry burl dish completed. Came out nice enough to get a few wows from the wife! Only one coat of oil on it now. Will recoat in a week or so.

Should have 3 boxes of wood coming in the mail today. Who knows what trouble I can get into!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
