@daugen A few years back, I happened to be visiting the Empire State Building during a major overhaul, AC, more power, and a few other things. Apparently, the low floor to floor height made renovations complex, as fresh air was an open window away and steam pipes provided heat when it was originally built.

I think that your black birds are ravens- the extra thick beaks is a telltale sign for me, though size is another.

All the best, Peter

Was in Empire State Building once back in the 80s. Used to go to the city for work back in 2010’s timeframe. No desire to go again.

No breakfast, couldn’t get the crew together. Slept in till about noon.

Only meaningful thing done was pull front tires on pilot to check brakes. Need replaced, but some left, so maybe next week.
Did torque lug nuts, usually I go by feel.
Tires getting worn also, need to rotate.
Prepped son who drives it, he will be paying. Or else he buys his own.

Congrats Scott!

I got all 12 cords of firewood inside except for one bucket full.
Tractor fueled and ready to take the BH off and put the disks on. That will be a Monday/Tuesday job.

Temperature going down to 36 tonight. Shut the outside tap off inside.

Oops, missed the extra one (1). Should have read 12 cords.

Here's something interesting: I saw a female pheasant in our yard yesterday afternoon. It is the first one I've seen in roughly 15 years of living here, and honestly, the first female I've seen since 1988.

I used to hunt pheasant on a family farm in New Hope, and I remember when they all disappeared right around 1987/88. That last year, I only saw two.

In the decade and a half I've been at our current address, I've seen a male twice, but this was the first female. Maybe there's hope for them, yet!

No argument from me Lou. I was just wanting insight from Thomas. It seems he maintains a safe distance from his critters, and makes sure that they adhere to it.
I try study their habits etc.,each bear has different attitude each day I show caution, over the years I found out after siblings leave their mother they can become unpredictable...playing than turn aggressive in moment.
I never approach and if they come to close no yelling just strong stern wood.

Bears kinda like country folks...don't mess with my groceries or the family. ;)

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.7C and it's presently 11.6C [heading to 16C], clear with a gentle breeze.

"Good onya" Scott for passing your radio exam.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
