72F and cloudy @ 13:45, was only calling for high of 69F for the day so we've beaten that. Low this morning was 61F.
Front came through earlier with some rain, did not hear any thunder. Can't tell if the gauge shows anything, nearby LWS shows they only got 0.05" ... bare ground areas still look dry as a bone ...
Drought Monitor still shows us as "Abnormally Dry" ...
Got tube feeders refilled first thing yesterday.
Installed 4 cages on hosta under maple @ southwest corner under maple tree.
Gathered up long garden hose and hauled it around to the front and strung it out to feed the pressure washer.
Ran soaker hose on the brassicas for an hour, low flow.
Picked a couple of volunteer tomatoes while I was under the netting hooking up the soaker hose.
Deployed another Buffalo of water:
The 6 pumpkins in back, 2 gallons each.
3 winter squash @ the southwest corner, 2 gallons each.
16 hosta plants @ southwest corner, 1 gallon each.
20 hosta plants @ large northeast maple, 1 gallon each, also 2 gallons to the Redbud volunteer there.
Hooked up Buffalo and set it to refill on low flow, got it refilled in about an hour.
Put another hook on the auger storage stand, removed 24" auger from PHD and got it stowed.
Ran down to the corner hardware and picked up a couple of new bolts for attaching the augers as the old ones were pretty chewed up then put on the 12" auger.
Finished cleaning out cracks in front of the garage where the asphalt meets the concrete, blew out with the Stihl blower.
Collected up a bunch of pots that The Woman had been cleaning and stowed them in a storage tote.
Looked for the tamper in the barn, couldn't find it ... may have loaned it to a relative. Need to recheck today when there is more light over there.
Agenda for today (in no particular order):
Hook up pressure washer and see if I can get it started. May have old gas in it, if so it may have to be drained and fresh put in it ... which will involve a trip down to the corner for fuel ... which is fine, since the Cub is due to be refilled.
Pressure wash area where cold patch is going to be put down.
Swap out Light Material bucket for pallet forks.
Move 2 x 12's over to the radial arm saw and get those cut to length.
Move some 4 x4 fence posts onto the hay wagon.
Move four large round fence posts from the barn over to the house then go back and get the saw horses.
Repair deer netting on the south perimeter of the garden.
Beyond that see what else comes up.
Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ...
