got my hairs cut and stopped off at local orchard to find out when
apples will be in. Next week three varieties being picked.
but you really need to try these white nectarines!
normally don't buy their other fruit, too expensive, but brought home some nectarines
for a dollar piece it worked out and my are they good.

got all my hardware bought, doubled up on the bolts, four at 2.5 inches and four at 3.5; just to be sure.
bought locking nuts, 1.25 for one nut. Really?
should have bought it all at TSC but lot further away.
I have flat washers, they were probably a buck apiece too.
had a ten dollar off coupon if I bought 50 bucks so bought a container of wet and forget for
moldy garage roof. Expensive algaecide.

gorgeous out, changed into grubbies and out I go,
looking for adventure...

on a lighter note, on this day back in NC my fireman helper and I were using the man bucket way up high along the tree line,
and this little guy was found on the ground. He must have fallen out/off.
But boy he sure knew a nice warm chest when he saw one.
I think the little thing went to sleep just knowing he was safe.

Drew, try buying a Kubota bolt for a price shock.

Got Mazda oil changed. Like all projects, way too much time looking for tools. Just a simple philips screw driver took 10 minutes to locate. First had to clean out one side of garage to get the car in, that meant moving couple items to barn, including an expensive kubota bolt, taking down a work table, cramming stuff here and there.
For 20+ years we had a Labor day picnic here, and I would clean the garage totally out, and set up tables and chairs for food. Now there is too much stuff to make room. Last night my son said we should have a labor day picnic again. If I did, it would be small group, invite only, not open to over 100 people like I used to.
running low on my oil inventory, not enough left for another change. Hope it goes on sale soon.
I did get the 2 new oil filters I ordered yesterday, so got one for next time. I set my reminder interval to 5500 miles, was at 5k. When working I would go to 10k.
Snagglepuss and Smoky still not getting along, Smoky will attack Snagglepuss, think she is jealous when food is around..
Took golf cart for a spin down to the creek, they already put a guy wire up on the new anchor they put in my way. No one stopped by to discuss with me, like the foreman said he would do last friday..... And they rutted up the "yard" down there, used a half acre to turn a truck around.

Maybe I'll mow across the creek, nice day out.

73F and partly cloudy @ 13:45, was only calling for a high of 71F for the day so we've beaten that. Low this morning was 46.8F.

Got meds doled out first thing yesterday.

Then got hopper feeder and both tube feeders refilled. Also scattered some seeds for the ground feeders.

After that I started mowing down here around the house.

Had the Buffalo refilling while I was doing that. Got it refilled.

Got the lawn down here all done except for the section just east of the garden where I had the Kubota parked.

Then loaded up the B&D battery-powered chainsaw and started cutting off the lower limbs on the (eastern white ?) pine tree near the northwest planting bed.

There had been a green ash tree growing right next to it which had grown up close to the top power line which I got the electric company to take down.

As part of that operation they ended up cutting some of the lower limbs off the pine tree leaving it asymmetrical ... so I figured I'd clean it up some and removed any limbs within 5' of the ground.

Got that mostly done, two loads of branches hauled up to the burn pile. Still a little bit more trimming and clean up left to do there. Might get to that today just so I can cross it off the list.

Might make a nice shady spot for those 3 lirope muscari plants we picked up from TSC.

After that I took the Cub and hooked up the Buffalo and moved it around back and dropped it next to a Hawthorn tree back by the pumpkins.

Got slings put on 2 more pumpkins, 1 Small Sugar and 1 Casper.

Got some cages put on the hosta around the Hawthorn tree so the deer don't completely destroy them.

Last item for the day was a quick run through the garden to see what needed to be picked.

Came up with a few items there:

Agenda for today:

Make a fresh pot of coffee.

Watering in the garden.

Watering the Redbud trees in back and the hosta/daylilies around them.

Drill the last 2 holes with the 24" auger.

Glyphosate spraying (winds permitting)

Finish up mulching the arbs.

Beyind that just see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday ... (y)

Mowed across the creek. Noticed they had already ran a fiber cable on the new support cable down along the creek.
I had just mowed next to a tree, and a few minutes later while I was mowing further away, huge limb fell where I had just mowed.
A live limb, no indication why it suddenly fell.

That Japanese stilt grass is aweful. It grows so fast and thick, and it stinks when you cut it.
Between the time I had taken the golf cart down this morning, and the time I mowed this afternoon, the line guys had been driving across my creek bottom again. So now there is a large log blocking the path. I took the tractor down to move the
fallen limb, and another dead cherry tree that had fallen down.
pic of where they were doing circles in my yard, well away from the power line route.
