Good morning, the low is 62 and going to 82°F. Wind SSE 6 mph, increasing to SSW 18-30 mph. 30% chance of showers with a chance of a T-storm late in the day. Sunny!

Another excellent day to knock down some trees.

I'll be knocking down some trees right after I get home from the garage. I've got some front axle work that needs to be done.

Have a safe day all

53 going to 87 today should be another nice day. Scott nothing fancy on the Delta Loop I used a Balun Design 4:1 Balun and attatched to a pole on barn roof went out to 2 points from there not symetrical at all but somewhat triangle shaped! Works great. I also have a 204ft dipole that does not hear near as good as the Loop which is very quiet.

The days keep on coming and going.
Sunday morning the neighbor called saying he needed a ride to the hospital.
I was still in bed.
Got dressed quick and out the door, 5 minutes.
He was at the door as I pulled up to his house.
He walked over and got in and off we went.
I was at serious risk of a speeding ticket.
Didn't matter.
He was dead just about the time I pulled up to Emerg.
Not even 50.
The sun came up today.
Prayers. I don't even know what to say, but we are here if you need to talk about it more. 50 is very young.

I’m not happy with the runout on the 3 jaw lathe chuck since I reinstalled it, I’ll probably fuss with that a bit as well. Be interesting to see what all happens before the Oddfellows meeting tonight.
How much runout? If there are any chips or debris in the scroll/jaws, they will runout. Most 3 jaws have a way to indicate if you just finger tighten the bolts that mount the chuck to it's drive plate, then adjust the 4 opposing set screws on the diameter. Then tighten the face bolts back up.

But some just like to run out period. Where I used to work, I had a 6 jaw Bison made in Poland that was awesome, but it still ran out maybe .001-.002" but if I needed something closer, I got to where I could do the above and get it less than .001", often almost zero.

Prayers for our team.

Good morning! 72˚F, clear skies, S wind heading to the mid 90s. Lawn mowing and car washing today before it gets too hot hopefully.
Buckeye, that new kitty looks like Gray 2 but lighter, sounds like the same personality, my wife wants him, but there is the problem of logistics and he is probably probably better off in a rural setting. My wife wants more pics.

good morning, 65 going to 79 with rain later

Picking up groceries today

Greased the RTV and the change to LockNLube coupler on the Milwaukee grease gun made it difficult to get the right angle in a hard to access point on the suspension A frame. Found the Lincoln set of adapters and the right angle one fit fine but then ran out of grease and time. So back to that today
May change it to a 45 degree grease fitting

Morning all, 62 going to 74 and more rain.
Feel like we're in a weird version of the tropics where it's cold.

Finished headlights on the JD and ordered a metal bumper to protect the now working hood.
Waiting for a dry day to take the deck off and finish cleaning/lubing it.

Lots of meetings on new project yesterday, to continue for a while, good to keep busy and employed.

The fox has been around a lot, squirrels are slowly disappearing.

Congrats on the GS marriage Happy

Be well,

Good Morning
60° and grey outside again. A day of drizzle only yielded .005” of rain yesterday, but it’s damp and dreary. Not supposed to rain today, might see peeks of sun later in the day.

Yesterday I built a wooden box out of birch plywood for my wife’s canopy weights-

Today starts with breakfast with the professor, after that I’ll trim off all the overhangs from the dado construction and round the edges. Using full dados is the fastest and easiest way I know to build a square box.

After that I’ll follow Kyle’s advice and take the lathe chuck apart and clean the jaws and the scroll. That makes a lot of sense, as I had ground the jaws in place with a tool post grinder years ago to make them dead true, and the spindle and chuck body indicate ok.

After that, I’m not sure what will fill the day, but unusually once I start in the shop, the fun just keeps on coming.

very good news from oncologist, says labs are good, one more CT scan this Fall and then I will be discharged at 5 year mark.
as expected, but wonderful to hear.

home to find street repavers now going the other direction, redoing the two foot edge on other side of street.
I got home just in time. Milling machine going by, vibrating the house a little.

no plans for today, will find things to putter with
