ken, it was the best before date. Bottle is almost empty anyway. ordered more from amazon and it comes with an inhaler for $11.83 all in. Local drug store wants $15.99 for just the Vicks and not the inhaler. That is $15.99+13% tax.

BEF, I wont see any field grown strawberries until at least June.

Drew, goodyear tires are only good for one year. Says so in the label. :)

Rain coming in tonight and all day tomorrow.

Only have two of the annual jobs left to get done. Maybe get the septic tank pumped, it hasn't been done for 2 years.
The other one is a must. Get the woodstove chimney cleaned. I can clean it but I cannot certify it as fit.

Good evening all. 57ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, light breeze. Light wind, up to moderate gusts, partly cloudy sky, and high temp was 88ºF. Made coffee to start day, Men's Meeting, bike ride, trip to town for lunch, haircut and groceries. Mowed back yard after groceries put away, no nap, dinner with group.
Resuming Tuesday 6:53 AM CDT post 206,985:
RS only 1 freeze off is very good. I had a 1/2" dia raised red spot that turned out to be basal cell carcinoma, 3 in incision, Plenty of stitches that stayed in for 2 weeks, light duty on that side for a month. It has healed nicely, after a year getting harder to find scar.
Paul sorry to hear main problem not fixed on Citation. Hope spreader clean when you welded it. Hope good breakfast, and voting went smoothly. Most of my freezes on arm and neck and a few face spots.
RS no new cancers, and number of freezes per visit going down.
Engineer nice stacks.
Ken sorry no financial help from NYU. Hope nothing damaged when ash fell. Thanks for story about "old" days of Paradise Island.
Don glad your area cooled off. Hope restaurant was worth the drive, and relative visiting went well.
Drew glad pergola got home ok, now for some weather you can build in. Sorry about no calls from contractor, More of a problem here in North Texas than back in Missouri.
Drew sorry about the ticks and freezes at dermatologist, hope doxycycline doesn't tear you up as bad a it does Buppies.
David glad you are getting more mowing done. Sorry and mule fuel filter is a special order. Wonder if you can order on-line.
David glad Tundra service quick. Sorry you skipped HD.
Dennis good to hear concrete work done and mixer back in barn. Nice grass all mowed, sorry still hitting sticks. Bet homemade strawberry ja,m is good :).
Dennis so changes would make both decks closer in size?
Bill hope they find and fix the pulling and baking issues and fix them. Easy fix for moldy syrup.
Randy(wag) glad you got some of your town errand run yesterday so today's list is shorter.
Dennis changes sound nice.
More catch up later.

Drinking fresh brewed cup of coffee. 46° with light rain this morning. Heading to 52° with rain off and on. .31" of rain yesterday. Most of the day was drizzle. Got 2 items off my To-Do list yesterday. Changed oil in front axle of both tractors. Hardest part was putting tire and wheel assemblies back on. Also got started washing laundry. 2 more loads to do. Hope to get that done today after grocery shopping.

Good morning, the high now is 48 and going down to a high of 46°F. Wind E 15 mph. Periods of rain. Raining right now.

Ron, I know your mother probably taught you to share your stuff, but you really didn't have to share your rain with me. ;)

While I was out and about yesterday, I took my laser thermometer with me and shot my front rotors...124°F, both. Rears were 80 & 84°F each. The front brakes were done last May 2, 2024 and there is only 1280 miles on them. The rears have less mileage on them, they were done last fall. When my brakes get done it is rotors and pads and calipers.
I sure wish I had drum brakes back again, Just change the shoes slap the drum on adjust them up and forget about them until you hear the squealers...2-3 years later. This Dodge goes through brakes every year.

Enough bitchin', not doing anything today.

Back down the you tube rabbit hole.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
.98 on rain gauge and still raining lightly, another day of it apparently.
I'm off early this morning to take car to dealer to get the 4Lo fixed and to get the nav updated.
Very happy they had an update for this older design car.
All tire thump seems to have been eliminated with new tire put on yesterday.
hopefully today will be last of car repair days for a long time, the expedition wore me out.

will do some shopping today and probably not much else.
will conserve energy until it dries out a little
50 degrees only going up a few today

57 and drizzle. Going to 74 and windy.

Rained/drizzled all day, so did inside stuff, including "weeding" a file cabinet drawer of about a 4" stack of old papers. Now much easier to file necessary records.

BEF, deck looking good, and wow, those strawberries!

on this day about eight years back, was packing veggies and potatoes for the food pantry in Washington NC.
Seems I took a pic of my home made water wagon that day. I sure used that a lot.

a few years earlier I was working on my Ferris zero turn. Loved the mower but hurt my hands and wrists too much
gripping the sticks. That mower had the most amazing ride with four wheel independent suspension and shock absorbers.

Good morning TBN!!
55 this morning going to upper 70s. Supposed to be gorgeous here today.

Same ole. here. Moved a little earth around and burnt up some rods tacking and welding rebar.
Burning steel.jpg

Lots of monkey climbing :) I also lifted that pole in to place. It's about a foot away from where I need it.
I also took the nearly 8' long steel tube I cut out of the tank to use as an anchor for the pole. Drove almost the whole pipe in to the ground with the FEL. Shouldn't go anywhere now.
Plan today is to put fencing down in a couple of spots and cover with some rebar.
I did drive the truck over top. I don't think I will do it again soon. Pretty narrow at the middle between the tanks!!

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Little after 7 in the AM Thursday.
GOOD MORING TBN!
It rained almost steadily yesterday, not a monsoon, but a range of heavy shower to steady drizzle until aboot 11PM.
It took a short rest and was at it again after aboot 2 AM. Predicted to continue most of the day and tomorrow.
Also really cool for this time of year. We should be cracking 70+F everyday and we will be lucky to make 60F for more than the coming week. We had one day a week ago where we broke some temperature records hitting 80+F and then this.
Even early June is predicted to be below normal.
My furnace is still going when I should be considering a little AC.
I wasn't planning a garden this year with the move to the Condo but this helps confirm it.
It's too wet to work the ground and the ground hasn't had a chance to warm up for the heat lovers like peppers etc.
Seeds would probably rot if put in now.
Oh well.
Time for some brekky. Hopefully someone in sunny Mexico is out there growing my produce.
Maybe with the motivation of his senorita and her bountiful taco.

No date on my Vicks bottle, so it’s good.
Almost .5” rain yesterday.
Got my Messicks order, and ate at Lincoln Diner in Gettysburg. Train came by as we were leaving.
Originally was going to another diner, we last ate here 2 yrs ago to the day.

Masseyrider no one says much about this but your cool weather and ours due to polar vortex about a month ago that’s affecting the weather. Interesting how that works. Some say US is going to have hot summer others not so much maybe similar to 2009. Will wait and see

I do share. But I thought it was you that was doing the sharing. Same rain clouds have been rotating CCW over both of us for 3 days.

Morning all, 49 going to 51 and rain.
Tonight is sons last Choir concert at high school. Seems so weird, he graduates in a few weeks.

Seeing strawberries in lactose , yuch.

Got grass seed on the swale I started, might as well use the rain to my advantage.

Be well,

Twins from last year seen yesterday, brother and sister.

50F and rain @ 09:15, calling for a high of only 52F for the day and all day rain.

Got IBC tote and pump removed from the van and stowed in the barn first thing yesterday.

After that headed up to the shop and started a small fire in the double barrel woodstove to take the chill off.

Got the last two legs welded on the second saw horse.

Found a piece of angle that seemed suitable for the cross braces on the saw horse legs and got those cut to length.

Then got those all welded up:

IMG_3680 copy.jpg

Only other idea I'm toying with is welding plates on the bottom of the legs since they are currently open.

Not a problem if they're being used on pavement, but could be an issue if they are being used on soft ground. Will have to scrounge around up in the shop and see what I have in the way of plate. Should have something suitable.

Plan on repotting tomato seedlings this morning, then appointment to get sliced and diced this afternoon.

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Cream and half and half mean pain and hospital to me.
Love Strawberries though. Keep the pictures coming!
Wonder if I will get any corn this year, would be nice.
I have tons of wild strawberries, my mom would bake them in a pie for us when I was a kid.
We could have strawberry shortcake as a special treat sometimes.
