Somehow this didn't get posted yesterday...
Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 4:30AM. Overcast. High 58F. Winds light and variable.
The Toyo GSIs I've got are 7 years old.
When the Michelins on the Ford got to be 7 years old, Costco refused to rotate them, and told me they would not honor the road hazard warranty any longer. One had a gash, not down to the cords but very noticeable. They were replaced with BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tires from America's Tire, NOT Costco. Before the Michelins I had a set of Cooper tires on there. They delaminated in the side walls, leaving large, dangerous looking buldges. The Cooper warranty was a pro rated one, and I was offered something like $10/tire toward a new set, prompting the change to Michelins and Costco.
Why not buy in Rochester and import it? Because you MUST own it for one year or more BEFORE you import it to Canada.
California does the same. If you try to register a vehicle in some other state like Montana with much lower registration fees, if you get pulled over they can make you proove you keep the vehicle at the out of state address for six months plus one day out of every year. I don't know how you'd do that. But if you don't, they'll fine you the cost of California registration. My little 90cc Honda made in 1975 costs $180/year to register. I can't imagine what they get for a $100,000 motor home.
Beef was from neighbors steer, pork belly was what I smoked a few days ago, some sharp cheddar and home made pickles, it was a good meal.
Dang, Paul, I just had to wipe my chin!
Made a warranty claim yesterday morning for a window that has lost the seal between the dual panes. The lady on the phone said they needed the serial number off the window, but the sticker was missing. I gave her the number off another window that was installed at the same time, and hope they can trace it back to the original order. They were all installed when the place was built back in 2007, and I also had to send them a copy of the grant deed showing my name along with the previous owner's to proove I was only the second owner. It's a life time warranty, but with some pretty limiting conditions.
When my neighbor took down the pine that was leaning over the driveway last year, he left a large pile of brush up at the cul-de-sac. It looked a mess, so yesterday I used the tractor and grapple to move it down to a spot I'd used for burning before. Five big bites got it done. It had been sitting out in the weather for a year, and I didn't think it would burn very well. But with a healthy dose of used oil, it took right off. Once it was burned down I started feeding it with all sorts of burnable junk that had been laying around. Fire damaged and rotting fence boards, a dozen or so wooden pallets, even about a hundred feet of plastic yard edging. Took most of the day, which ended with another neighbor and I enjoying a few beers, warming ourselves by the large pile of glowing embers.
The firetruck needs a new radiator cap and some antifreeze, so I might wander into town around lunch time and pick up some groceries and a burrito from my favorite roach coach. Probably drop by the dump on the way back and get rid of some scrap steel.
TGIF gang!
