PopG, I had a conversation with my supplier to see if the refinery or supplier put anything in the oil before it gets to me. NO was the answer. He also didn't recommend a biocide, in fact he was totally against it.

I had the same discussion with my supplier, but with a different outcome. I get ultra low sulphur heating oil, and add biocide, lubricity and cold flow additives to make it suitable for my common rail diesels that require the lubricity. The other additives might not be necessary, but they cause no harm other than cost, but I can be assured of the quality of my fuel. I do not use it for heating oil at all.

Morning all;
Interesting temps last night early evening got down to 15F then by midnight it "warmed" back up to 21F which is were it's at now. Forecast for a high of 27F and low of 18F.
As far as electric bills ours for Dec. was one of the higher ones that we have had, $382.25 for 1935 kwh.
Not sure how much is from the new car. I haven't set up a new charging station for it and I am considering putting some metering on it to track the parasitic charging for the battery maintenance after it's charged and the % efficiency of the charging setup in the car.

got the fence crew working. They brought the wrong fence.
each board top was supposed to be scalloped. They brought what they said was scalloped and the entire
eight foot section had a dip in the center. Not what I wanted at all.
faced with send it back or live with it, I chose to live with it.
plus I thought the sections had some air between the boards, this was almost solid cedar.
this is why CAD drawings on quotes are so helpful...

just too cold to stay out there with them, 20 with wind chill of 12.
They said no problem with concrete hardening. ok

I ordered oil and filters for new car. Spec was identical to Ford oil in V10 motorhome,
a motorcraft semi syn 5W-30. I'm using full syn Pennzoil instead, forums recommend it.
biggest priority is to change transmission oil, which I will have shop do. Several 4wd components
with fluid reservoirs that also need attention. Over my paygrade, plus I don't have a lift.

Good morning! Yikes! it was not supposed to freeze, I'll have to remember when they say 36˚ my back yard will say 32˚. All plants are out of the garage and uncovered, oh well will see. It will warm up quickly to the low 60s already 47˚ with mostly sunny skies.

The "Farm" came out with the February schedule and I'm on it. February will be the month of "Baby Animals" and "Tulip Fields" festivals. I hope all my scheduled days are above freezing.

There is the difference, I do use it in my furnace. THE primary use is the furnace and secondary is the Kioti.

64°F and no rain.

Need to test run my generators this morning. By the time I got them hooked it yesterday my batteries had a full charge. All I could do was verify proper voltages at the proper terminals but not actual charging although I could hear inverter clicking to accept. Then I need to wire in the auto start.

H&F at friends later

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

....

rip, what are you doing with the electrics??? Are you heating with electric? Lighting up the neighbourhood? Supplying the neighbours with electricity, too?

....
Looks pretty bad, eh?

Our properties are total electric. Running three HVAC systems and two mini-splits.

Even with a renovation on the Farm House, it's still cold in certain rooms. Circa 1920 build. The newer parts are toasty, though....
