Enjoyed reading about many wonderful Christmas gatherings. Ours are coming in shifts...oldest son and wife yesterday, middle son and family today and tomorrow, and youngest son was sick, so looking for them in January.

Wag, looked up pavlova...sounds good. Did you have a fruit topping like kiwi?

Was able to get a good Christmas hike and swim in for Della, who is still in heat...crossed paths with a big male rottweiler...glad owner had him leashed and was a big strong woman.

Kyle, sounds like a bonfire that could be seen from space.

Good morning TBN!!

Right at freezing this morning with expected mid 50s and building clouds.
Laid back Christmas with just the wife and I. Didn't much feel the joy this year but it's almost over.
Spent a good chunk of the morning playing with the weather station she got me. Most of the rest of the day was movies, eating, and entertaining the cat and the dog.
We did finally get the heating element and they came to install it on Tues. Not completely finished as we still need a sensor but it's warm inside.
Nothing much on the agenda for today.

Good Morning.
18° and sunny, temperature might double by afternoon.
Yesterday was a relaxing day, saw all the kids, but not at the same time. Great prime rib dinner at oldest son’s.
We will all get together on Saturday to celebrate as a family.

Not much happening today, I need to renew my expired passport, keep making progress in the shop, and get a check delivered to the local food pantry.

Drew might stop by on his way to or from his RV, and of course, something always pops up, I’ll wait and see what that is.

Ct, 10 to start going to 36 with clear skies and no wind at the moment !

Today we head north to our Vermont house and we won’t return until next Thursday ! The rest of the family comes up next Saturday morning! It looks like Saturday will be their chance to go sliding down the hill before the rain comes in on Sunday! Hopefully they take advantage of that !

Welcome to global warming. When I was a wee lad this time of year we were building snow forts, tobogganing, skating on the pond...
Whatever winter wonderland activity to keep us out from under Ma's feet during the holiday.
We came in tired, wet but clean. It would take 20 minutes to peel off the boots and layers. It all got hung up by the chimney in the back entrance where you put on your slippers and dry long johns.
If you sent kids out in today's world they'd come in looking like they were mud wrestling after 2 minutes.
Ma would have had a stroke seeing the mud dragged across her clean floors.

The duck breasts were a hit yesterday The skin was crispy and were tasty. Made on a super hot pan with skin side down to crisp it up and then turn down the heat and flip it over.

Not sure what the plan is today but so far walked Cody and getting the fire going good

A nippy 8F this morning and a freezing "fog" out everything has coating of frost and ice crystals drifting through the air and sparkling in the sun. Looks pretty but dang that means its cold and not real nice out.
Time to bring up a pallet of coal for the stove before this nasty garbage weather starts, projected freezing rain Saturday then rain through Tuesday before freezing up again on Wednesday.
Not nice weather and rough on the cows and other outside critters, and miserable mud and slop to work in.
Glad I'll get to see most of it from inside.

Morning all, 22 going to 38 and cloudy.
Made many calls to relatives yesterday, most are doing well.
Today BIL and wife coming over for dinner, then quiet until New years when we go over a friends.

Got an air fryer for Christmas, so threw in a bunch of apple slices and put it on Dehydrate. Came out pretty good, Wife also got me an X27 splitting Axe so I can do some splitting in the woods before loading up to split smaller on the gas splitter. I have rounds from fallen trees everywhere.

Off to heart Dr in a few, so far that is one issue that seems to be fixed long term.

Nice fire in the fireplace last night.

Gunfire in the distance, wonder if we'll notice any less deer, there are so many here.
