Scott, this stove is over ten feet high. You're going to love the pic.

35 out, and I've decided to stop being so cheap and be warm instead so on came the propane furnace. Nice even heat everywhere. There is a propane refill station 100 feet from this site, so on way out tomorrow will make appt to get tank topped off.
I've been relying on a single electric heater and during the night that's fine.
But I think I've got plenty of cold nights ahead on the way home, particularly closer to home in late October. They only put in two or three gallons anyway.
furnace stunk again when lit, a little better, then smell went totally away. Heats whole rv up in under two minutes, plenty of capacity.

and so far my electric hot water is working great so not having to use propane for that.
two biggest consumers are a/c and my toaster oven. Third would be electric hot water.
with only 30 amps you just have to think before you start turning everything on.
RNG's wiring continues to impress.

I saw signs for Continental Divide, never knew what it was.

Take Rt 50 west a few miles and enjoy monarch pass. 😄. The best pass on continental divide is Wolf Creek down on Rt160.

are you taking rt50 east to leave? Stop at Royal Gorge. Unfortunately the western town of Buckskin Joe is no longer there. Maybe the little train is still there to ride to edge of the canyon.

Those stoves are indeed very large. With wife being Swedish I can see the connection. They are used a lot in castles in Europe. And they are very expensive to construct costing 10's of thousands I could imagine

I think if you do it yourself costs savings and I know he drove his truck and trailer to get it quite a distance away. But yes expensive and a centerpiece of home.
I'm sure he'll be glad to chat about it
Nice that his pine floors are all from Tinsman Bros here locally in Pa.
He grew up here too like I did.

they had a smaller version in their home in Lahaska Pa, but when they designed their final home they clearly had the big one in mind. Lot of radiating mass

I'm headed North to Boulder on 285 to see another brother's grandchild, and then coming back South on 25 and then 87 towards Amarillo. If I wasn't seeing family in Boulder, yes I would take 50 east

hard to get tired of the view here. Morning light on the mountains

Morning all, 63 going to 76 and cloudy.
Pool is closed, still need to put away some stuff, will finish today.
Also got tire done, 5 min when not tired  and used walk behind blower to clear driveway, shared road and side yard.
By then it was dark, so came in for dinner.

Drew that greenhouse is pretty wild. Saw quite a few of those big stoves around Europe, some are really amazing, hope you can share a picture.

Great pictures BEF - do you have a map of the trip, seems like it would be good one for use to take in a year or two.

My Grandmother on my fathers side was born and raised in Denver before moving to NYC.
Denver was pretty built up when I visited her old neighborhood. Now it's in a run down area of older smaller houses.

Tomorrow off to more college tours, this time in NYC.

Paul/Popgadget, love the cedar.

Be well,

Trusty little wonder, started on first pull and ran clean and strong. Moved a lot of leaf and tiny sticks around.

Had five deer in the front little area, dog tried to herd them. Only one stayed around to watch.

Good morning! Low of 52°, heading up towards 83°. Sunny, no rain in sight....

Drew, you left the heat behind.... can you please come back and collect it? When is your return trip down I-25? Reson I ask is because the International Balloon Fiesta starts this Saturday and goes until the following Sunday..... traffic will be a nightmare on 25 from all directions around Albuquerque.

Paul, the siding looks great... along with the entire addition! Exquisite work!

Dennis, is that location where you took the avitar pic? Beautiful pics, definitely like the 'cabin'.....

Bill (LFN), good to hear the tractor service went well. Hopefully the bill won't be over the top.

I'm off to PT shortly. I hope she doesn't aggravate the nerves too much. Usually the therapy irritates the nerves for a couple days thereafter. I'm glad Drew's visit occurred between sessions.

Stopped at Costco to fill up after dropping the GS off at the university this morning. $2.55/gal vs. $3.19 at the local station. That makes a big difference in a fill up, even our commuter car with a 10 gal tank saves $6.

Tractor tire still holding air. It might get a workout tomorrow, some mulch has to get moved. Not too bad if it has to get replaced, can get the same brand (Carlisle) for $86. That's a lot better than anticipated.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 78F @ 8:30AM. Abundant sunshine. Near record high temperatures. High near 100F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I was very tempted to shoot down the neighbor's drone when he caused it to dive at me a couple years ago, Drew. I reported the incident to the FAA and was told that had I shot it down, I could be charged and fined. Hows that for unfair?

Worked outside yesterday morning, scraping an area near a pile of manzanita so I can buck it without starting a fire. My heavy buck nearly fell apart when I moved it, so it's in the garage for some R&R. Empty pallets were unloaded from the van and put near the pile, then moved four full pallets out of the shipping container, two into the van, two into the garage. I'll get ads up for the shipping container this morning.

Patched a few holes so I've got a little paint to touch up today. Not sure what else is on the agenda, but there's plenty to choose from.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Hope it doesn't get caught in the dock strike.

Your dog needs the practice towards maintaining her/his Corgi card.
