67°F and .04 inches rain.

Need to check freezer to see if it maintained temp overnight. Was -8°F last I checked, hopeful. The melted foam and plastic areas are completely hidden. No idea when it might have happened. Possibly came that way from factory for all I know.

Less than good news from tractor tech. Still waiting on 1 back ordered part.

Lobster dinner was delicious. Even ran into friends enjoying some time out and visited a bit.

Plan is get some mowing done if weather cooperates. This has been an extended mowing session.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

It was a perfect Fall morning.
Low 60s, blue sky with just a few puffy clouds. Light breeze.
Lots to do but I enacted man's greatest labor saving invention, TOMORROW.
Nothing really important so... I took the GT for another cruise. Little over half a tank this time.
Almost all the new cars are automatic. People are missing out on the smile a series of perfect shifts provides.

Take Rt 50 west a few miles and enjoy monarch pass. 😄. The best pass on continental divide is Wolf Creek down on Rt160.

are you taking rt50 east to leave? Stop at Royal Gorge. Unfortunately the western town of Buckskin Joe is no longer there. Maybe the little train is still there to ride to edge of the canyon.
I haven't been up to Royal Gorge since the mid 80's just walking on that bridge was an interesting experience and looking down at the rail road tracks in the bottom of the gorge.
It would definitely be a nice stop on Drews travels.

I'm headed North to Boulder on 285 to see another brother's grandchild, and then coming back South on 25 and then 87 towards Amarillo. If I wasn't seeing family in Boulder, yes I would take 50 east

hard to get tired of the view here. Morning light on the mountains
285 is the route we would take from Denver to get down there, except I went Colorado springs and then rt 50 one time. Right before Bailey, stop at the Coney Island Hot dog stand....

Great pictures BEF - do you have a map of the trip, seems like it would be good one for use to take in a year or two.
No, but I'll post a summary of the trip soon.
Dennis, is that location where you took the avitar pic? Beautiful pics, definitely like the 'cabin'.....
Pic taken here.. We were penning cattle back in 2009.

Corral is right behind this log barn.

That does not look like anything in Coney Island
Always love these classic road side places.

Mostly guessed the one picture. it was the Ohio River Joining the Mississippi River in Cairo, Il. We were heading towards our son in Nashville, after eating an early lunch at Lamberts Cafe in Sikeston MO. The old tractor pic with the John Deere spreader is in front of Lamberts.

2986 miles..... 11 states in 11 days. 751 miles furthest north and south points, 693 miles furthest west from our house (straight line distance on google maps). 18 different Interstates, some multiple times and states.
That will Pale compared to Drews adventure. I would love to take one like his. This was to visit old friends in WI that we haven't gone to see since 1997 when they lived in Milwaukee.
We visited Berlin Ohio the first night. stopped at the old Ohio&Erie Canal on the way in Coshocton, stayed in Berlin. Ate at the famous Boyd & Wurthmann Rest and the Berlin Farmstead. Both excellent eating places in Amish country.
Then we drove up to visit Ron, and our friends. Great to visit with Ron, and good to see our friends new baby.
Stopped at the Woodworker shoppe in Comins MI and got a quote on wood for my porch ceiling. Saw them on Mike Morgans youtube channel.
Next was a couple days at Mackinaw and the Island. First time I think my wife ever beat me at putt putt golf... I was distracted by the beauty of the area. Toured the Grand Hotel, took a carriage ride, explored the old fort on the Island. Then proceeded to the Soo Locks, several lighthouses on Lake Superior/Lake Huron. All the way north to Whitefish point, the site of many shipwrecks. We saw 4 of the Great Lakes on the trip.
Went west in the UP over to Munising falls and sand point, at Picture Rock National Seashore. Did not have enough time to take it all in. We needed a whole day there that we did not have.
We drove down along the West side of Lake Michigan to our friends that live below Green Bay. We had not been to visit them since they lived in Milwaukee in 1997. They lived here in MD for a short time in the late 80s. We spent a weekend with them.
Then we headed south to our son below Nashville TN, but swung by Lamberts in MO just for lunch. Probably was close to PJ when we stayed in Mt. Vernon IL one night.
Stopped by our lot coming up I81, gathered my cameras in case we do sell... Good to be home.

Pic of Ohio Erie locks from 1975 and now... Think it's my brother diving in in 1975. I should have been at the lower lock, and was at the middle, but I couldn't remember exactly.

Ted, when I come down 25 shooting off on 87 long before Albuquerque headed to Amarillo. Hope traffic isn't backed up that far, but then, I'm always the slow guy in the right lane, and I usually wind up going just as fast as the frustrated folks in the left lane. We shall see, but sure will keep looking up, thanks

long fun day getting caught up with a very nice person, who also happens to be incredibly talent. He can build entire engines from scratch, every part. He did the engine for the 27 liter BlitzBenz and had one of the old pistons there. His shop is a gold mine for car nuts. He is still doing an occasional small engine but really wants to work on his own stuff now, projects waiting a long time for him to retire.
and oh my the equipment, custom line borers, honers, aligners, etc plus metal bending tools for forming entire new car panels in aluminum. I always drool when I go in his shop.

the stove has the optional pizza oven on the side.
and it doesn't get so hot you can't touch it, just a massive heat radiator

can't load more pics, internet too slow, will try to load the machine shop pics when I can

tried the other wifi, nope still slow
He even has an original 100 year old bench vice made by Bugatti
but the rest of his stuff is very modern and he said he has rebuilt it all.
Exacting is an understatement. I'm at the "what's this do" stage usually
