71 going to 88.

PJS, so sorry to hear about the accident. Prayers for your family.

Thomas, good to hear Boo is a music lover.

Got some seat time...picked up and dragged the brush I cut last week over to the tractor bucket and took 3 loads to the brush piles. Got a brief sprinkle that felt good.

Long recovery road ahead for him, but he's still young, so he'll bounce back just fine. He's already trying to figure out what type of prosthetic will best allow him to ride a motorcycle.

I’m sorry to hear about your son, it’s always tough to say that he is lucky to be alive, when if he was truly lucky he wouldn’t be injured.

I had my own near death motorcycle induced two month hospitalization back in 2019. My family was drawing straws to figure out who was going to tell me that after over 50 years, I was done with street bikes. However I made it easy for them and came to that conclusion on my own after running through my accident scenario endlessly in my head and realizing that there was nothing that I could have done to avoid it other than to have not been on the road where the SUV’s are.

I still have a vintage trials bike that I putter around the farm on, but for me, the risks of a street bike were no longer worth the rewards. I missed far too much living while recovering from the accident.

Good Morning ,
Milford, Ct. 65 to start going to 79, totally overcast this morning ! As nice as yesterday was, today is not but weather is supposed to improve with sun showing later !

Kids were up at the crack of dawn, so that means Nana and Opa are up early also ! 😂 Kids are having a ball already,, so we are trying to keep them quiet so the parents can sleep! Unsuccessfully I might add ! 😉

No reason why the women can't go skinny dippin' too.
Bill, if by chance my DIL’s went skinny dipping, my wife wouldn’t allow me to watch ! 😂

Don, sounds like good improvement! You also sound like a pretty good patient and one that follows directions and does your homework!

Hope to get a walk in later along the beach ! Not much planned at this point !

Hope all have a good start to their Labor Day weekend! 🙏

Good morning, the low temperature is 55 and going to a high of 75°F. Wind WSW 2 mph. Sunny!

It rained fairly heavy yesterday afternoon & evening from about 5 P.M. onward. I don't know when it stopped, but it is not raining now.

I might actually get busy and 'do' something today.
Don't hold your breath, though.

Drew, any trucker that uses his Jake brake in a truck stop especially after dark is just branding himself a rookie. The same goes for in town. Doing it in town is why you now see signs at the outskirts of towns that say "NO ENGINE RETARDERS" and "NO JAKE BRAKES". Actually the no Jake brakes sign unless it has the 'r' in a circle after brakes is illegal.'Jake Brake' is a trademarked name the same as Jacobs engine braking systems.
Personally, I like the sound of straight pipes and a barking Jake, but I also know that I am in the minority.

I've got some body work to do before the snow flies and it needs to be done while the temperatures are in the 70s. This week will be a good week to do it.

PJ, are you trying to discourage your son from riding motorcycles after this? If not and he has his heart set on them, then suggest a suicide shift Harley.

Time to get on with my day.

Have a safe Labour Day weekend all

71 outside this AM, heading to mid 80's. Grey outside.

Our road is open. Mail came last night at 8PM. A mile or two further south the main roads (two) of them county roads, still closed. Still hearing chain saws. It was a collision of two pretty strong storms over the area. What a mess.

Yesterday was an indoor day after the fuel ran out. I can get to the gas station today for more of everything.

Need to start tending to animals and do some wall work in the Milk House. I'll need some wood ripped for window trim, sometime today. Always fun as I never got a table saw. LOL. I do it the hard way.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

PJ, I am also sorry to hear about your son's accident.

I went through a motorcycle accident also back when I was about your son's age. It was body casts and lots of time in hospitals but recovered with lots of screws and bits holding me together. There was nothing I could have done to prevent the accident other than not being there.
During the long recovery I decided to pursue an engineering degree so it literally changed my life.

Hope that your son will recover quickly.

Pj, sorry about stepson. One lucky guy to be alive.

Don, hope for quick healing.

Didn’t know loves has RV spots. We ate at German restaurant right by a loves, the one I usually stop at going to the lot.

Mostly, fortunately was a low drama visit. Sister in law had tried to turn bday dinner into a large party, and her mom put a stop to that when she heard. She’s not one for large groups, nor parties. Never know how visits will go. After a couple years at this campground, they said they leave mid Oct for 6 months in TX, or maybe OK. Going to be a well pad security guard for the winter.

this is a stop of last resort and/or in the middle of the night. They appeared half full this morning so all those folks came in after dinner.
Engine retarders are absolutely necessary but not this close in.
Maybe Loves should put up a sign saying Quiet Driving Zone
think anyone would pay any attention?

I'm killing time because of the time change a few minutes into this drive, so I can't leave until 9am because they are an hour earlier
so I went out and washed the entire rv, no restrictions here, worked up a sweat and changed into a dry golf shirt when done.

222 miles, 3:45 per software but that means 4 hours since if speed limit is 70 I'm only going 65

Scott have fun at the beach.

I see the Bigboy 4014 is making another trip east to Chicago, then down to Tx, before returning to Cheyenne.
Makes me want to go see it.
Drew, you might be near it on your trip.
Didn’t know it was making another trip this year after it did the California trip.

Wonder if all the work will affect pond overflow
It is another neighbor so no impact on the pond overflow.
But following what he is doing. Excavated out a flat area with fill on a slope and put up the 80 by 40 pole building locating 16 ft doors against the sloped side. I guess realizing that run off and space for getting into the building could be problems so he is now back excavating out more of the slope. Also too steep a driveway ending up too close to the front of the building restricting space to get into the building with any size of a vehicle

Son is frosh, no pic in the paper as far as I know of. They did win their first game against Jarrell here in Giddings last night 0-16. Frosh and JV play on Thursdays in opposite field of where the Friday night's Varsity game is played.
Well the rest of his team has their pictures in the paper. Maybe it is only in the out of town mail-out paper.

Morning all, 73 going to 85 and cloudy.
Lots of bucks around, 3 on one side, 2 on the other, all younger and still hanging out.
Peaches not ready yet. Got saw cleaned up and purged air compressor. One dehumidifier is starting to ice up, need to look at that.

PJS - sorry to hear about your stepson- so glad he is out of the hospital. Prayers sent for his recovery and that he can find a prosthetic that works well.

Nice place Scotty -

Drew - need noise canceling outdoor speakers?

Be well,
