Good morning
42° now and raining (all day), only going up a couple more degrees today with wind NE 10-15 mph.
Quiet Christmas Day at home, Mrs cooked a roast beef for dinner, watched a couple of movies.
Day after was another day of pick up sticks, was finally dry enough in a far area of yard to get into with tractor. Yesterday helped neighbor take down a couple of beech trees that were starting to die from the top down. They were about 14” at the base, nice fire wood size and easy to handle. Those are all cut up and ready to split and brush added to burn pile.

Grocery shopping this morning and the rest of the day nursing aches and pains lol.

good morning all
warm weather after the storm went through, 50-55 next two days.
that will really confuse the bulbs, some are already popping up.

rain gauge was a surprise 2.64 inches of rain, much more than expected,
back lawn will be under water again I'm sure.
need to check on garage; when that much rain comes down, floods garage floor and then I need to dry it out

trip to supermarket this morning, then not sure what is planned.
I did work in office yesterday cleaning up paperwork, looking for tax receipts, etc. Boring job but got it done.

Dennis, and others with sniffles, hope you feel better this morning
will be no surprise if some of us get sick from all the xmas socializing; it's when I see the most kids and
someone is always generous.
in fact, I'm sniffling now...

Turned down 8am breakfast invite an hour away
The last employed member of our breakfast gang retired again. He retired about 6-7 years ago, then returned back to work after a few yrs off.
Meanwhile, Friday marks 1 yr retired for me. Time sure flew by.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

31.6F going to mid 0w, considerably cooler than the last coupled days but dry And sunny .

Running around yesterday went well, and I was able to get into the woods before 2PM and into the stand by 3, taking a long, slow, convoluted walk to get there. Another “vegetarian” outing, heard movement, and the only sighting I had was in dense cover with no chance of a bolt making it through, let alone making a positive identification of antlerless deer to comply with current deer season. But there was a nice sunset, and I was back on the couch before 7PM. So Bambi will be safe again until next September, when I will be much better prepared than this year. I got started much too late with minimal preparation.

Today is some ’tween-Holidays house cleaning, and we are going out to dinner with mom tonight.

Good morning, the low is 37 and the high to 39°F. Wind NE 9 gusting to 17 mph. 60% chance of rain.

Today is dump/town run. Time to get back to almost 'normal'. February will get us back to normal. I fuel up in North Bay and that fuel will last me all the following month as long as I only go to town once a week. $70.oo/month for gas is cheap. Cheap is my middle name.

Other than town run, it is an energy conservation day for me.

Vt, 41 to start going to maybe 45 !

NHBX, so not terribly different here today ! Usually by this time of year this place is frozen solid, multiple inches of snow and the DW is like a luge run ! The clan will be here sometime this afternoon, so time to get prepared for the onslaught !
Was hoping for some white stuff so the kids could go sliding out in the field, but not looking good for this trip !

Hope to spend a little time in the workshop over the next few days. I would like to get the blanks milled up for the front legs of the rockers that I want to build for my grand daughters !

Good morning.
49° and not going to change much throw out the day. 50% chance of rain, in addition to the almost 3” we got yesterday and through the night.

Yesterday’s trip to Florida was challenging. Ground stops due to volume closed Naples, so we went to FT Myers. However we were not the only ones. We had to park remotely, and wait our turn to taxi to the ramp. We were in line for departure for about 90 minutes leaving.

Got home too late to get anything done but get in bed, the ride home from the airport was miserable in heavy rain.

Today starts with breakfast with the professor, then I’ve got to ship what sold from my eBay auctions of used avionics.
After that, the day is mine to wander through. Looking forward to pork belly sandwich for lunch…..

Cloudy and wet here pond came up a foot weatherman talking about light snow tomorrow night I doubt it. Cold is coming for week or so but no lasting power always 10 days away but ice in Arctic same as 2000 hmmmmm

Got the new drain in the sink. Too wet and too tired for much else.
Tonight grill up some Salmon for our guests delayed Christmas Dinner.
Friends Canceled New Years party, son is moving and they are staying by him to help.

interesting drive home from supermarket.
Came up Aquetong Road north of 202 into a very windey section in the woods with almost no sight distance.
But the problem this morning was a young man driving too fast for his tires in the rain on a sharp curve I'm sure he took
too fast. I drive those curves almost every day. He slid across the road and hit a one ton service truck head on coming the other way.
The smoke was still in the air a little when I got there, late model Tacoma halfway up on top of guardrail, other truck inop, road totally blocked.
I grabbed my med kit and went up to check on them but they were ok.

when I bought tires for my Volvo the highest criteria I used was wet road grip.
I was really curious to go look at how much tread he had on his truck tires
but figured he was unhappy enough already and three folks were all on the phone
calling it in.

I had bags of frozen food so could not stay to play fire police.
plenty of experience doing that many years ago.

From the posts I just read it looks like everyone had a generally pleasant, safe and Merry Christmas! I hope everyone did.

We are still cleaning up and trying to get back to normal. A damp and chilly 40f here in this corner of East Texas.

Lot's of routine duties for today. Nothing noteworthy.

Need to wire up my pump, check my plumbing for leaks, then hopefully let her rip.

Grass is taking advantage of all this rain, now sun. Needs attention

New pump is working - no leaks.

This is an upgrade kind repair. The original pump was 1 1/2hp single speed. New one is 3hp variable, able to set 4 speeds and program various times. Still need to program, just running it at 3k rpm to get a good flush.
