Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #178,601
Late start getting working outside today. Tractor wouldn’t start again. Put it on charger, then put BH on the BX, used it to dig iris plants that were in way of my trench. Had to use jump starter, and barely got it to start with it.
Got trench dug to house, got 30 ft more of conduit planted, covered in stone then top soil. Moved a bunch of dirt to the treeline. Still got about 6 ft to the wall to go.
Was getting dark when I finished.

   / Good morning!!!! #178,602
a lot sunnier out but down to 58.
took advantage of nice weather and barbecued a couple of pork chops.
Ate the tenderest parts and will put the rest in a stir fry soon.
while waiting for dinner to cook, ambled over to blackberry bushes
and found a nice medium one. The big fat one I tugged on just wouldn't let go.
patience

I despise yellow jackets. Had them on farm growing up, had several nests on farm in NC.
Usually find out the hard way getting stung on mower.
after a sting on my hand where my arm looked like a balloon up to my elbow, got an epi pen.

I wonder how many years that epi pen is out of date. Probably at least two.

I wouldn't be so skittish around them if the family doctor who delivered me, and one of my Father's best friends
had not died from three yellow jacket stings. Epi pen and fast trip to ER didn't save him, one of leading docs in community.
That was a learning lesson about bees and anaphylactic shock.

He came to our house for almost twenty years with his wife, they all played
bridge on Sat night. Pretty boring to us kids for sure.
except when someone said the word rubber.

then my young ears perked up...
Getting stung by a Yellowjacket is bad enough.

getting BITTEN by one is far worse, and potentially more dangerous, as they are carrion eaters, and a bite can lead to a bad infection.
I had that happen a while back, but was aware of the issues and got to the hospital (5 mile boat ride plus 30 mile drive from a camping trip) before it became critical.

doc was impressed that I didn’t wait until the next day…

Good evening all. 59ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, light breeze. Morning light wind, afternoon moderate wind with brisk gusts, Partly cloudy sky, and high temp was 85ºF. Putter in morning, bike ride, after lunch finish mowing the yard, gas tank ran dry before finish. Took clean shop towel cleanup bottom of tank, still stuff in tank so blew it out. Mower surged less after tank blow out. Trip to town for dinner, then watched Rangers go to ALCS.
RS the control valve assembly does look a bit corroded.
Kyle good to hear easy day at work and dryer parts on order. Can't believe the politics of the H****s attack.
Ron glad you got the lawn ornaments picked up and put away. Hope trimming went well Nice cleanup crew.

Randy(wag) and good cooperation from the stand in as well :)
Buppies good to hear job done inspite of rain. Prayers sent.

Bill hope you got the rest of the firewood in basement. I hope the bears enjoy their meat as well. The prep was interesting om the chicken and sweet potato, glad it turned out.

Kilroy glad chimney cleanup done I need to get out chimney swept. Hope today went well.
Drew 2 stroke not quite a clean as 4 stroke but not bad you might think. 2-stroke diesel made Tier 3 pollution standards, and I had an 115 hp 2 stroke that mad California outboard pollution standards.

Good morning! 66˚F heading to only the upper 70s with cloudy skies and a South breeze, an excellent Fall day.

Finally the first day of the estate sale and I know several cousins will be there when the gate opens. The hot items they want are an old wall phone ( the crank type), a good 25 gallon crock with lid, and a Christmas nativity set.
Mom's wedding dress is in the sale, probably would make a good Halloween costume (bride of Frankenstein). It has been in a trunk in the attic for 80 years and is slightly yellow but good silky condition.
It seems kind of sad to be selling all their most precious belongings. I'm glad we got the liquidators to conduct the sale.

The big job will come after the sale when the house will have to be cleaned and prepped for selling, but I'll get out of most of that, hopefully with a good newly healing surgical knee. Pre-op dr. appointment today also, busy day.
