82F and "Fair" @ 14:30, calling for a high of 83F today. Only a 3% chance of precip ...
Rain supposed to return tomorrow though.
Ten Day forecast is looking good after Tuesday however ...
Up very late today after being up most of the night. Still on first cup.
Woman and I headed out around midnight to see what we could see in the sky, was very humid and fog had formed and there were some clouds:
I had started to download the "Night Sky" app and went back inside to check on that and grab my phone off the charger. Very cool app ...
Went back out and it was looking like it was going to be a bust so we came back in.
She ended going to bed ... I stayed up and went back outside a number of times.
Eventually the humidity dropped, the clouds cleared and the fog mostly disappeared. She got back up at some point and went out side again. Don't think She ever saw anything meteor-wise though.
I persisted long enough that I saw a number of pretty bright ones ... both from the Persieds and the South Delta Aquarids.
The Night Sky app was very handy to identify various things in the sky including the vectors that the meteors were emanating from.
Did manage to get a couple of halfway decent photos of the night sky with the phone:
The bright object is the planet Saturn.
Tipping my head back really was killing my neck so it wasn't as pleasurable as it could have been. Have no problem bending my head forward but tipping it back for any length of time ends up be excruciating.
Need to find a good lounger that I can lay back in for cheap ...
Not sure what all on the agenda for the rest of the day.
Hopper and tube feeders do need refilled.
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday ...
