got the bike finished and installed on rack. Very sturdy.
had a nice dinner over at friends and drove the bike around their block, and got lost...
had to call them on how to get back on development back roads.
Bike hit its 20mph top speed, ran fine
yawning like mad, not going to last long
Drew, they make "wrist protectors" for roller bladers and such, also you might consider a neck movement limiter? Except they would limit your ability to check your blind spot. Be careful on that thing. Go slow when on loose gravel.

check the contacts on the centrifugal switch. They are supposed to come apart after startup IIRC.

So another friend and I were discussing things, and came upon the subject of hamburger meat not having flavor at our prized Whataburgers. I saw a thing on FB where others were chatting about it, so it's not just us. My wife says even store bought hamburger is losing its appeal to her, due to fattiness. It just doesn't seem to have much beef flavor nowadays. One friend says they put too much water in it to lower the price maybe.
I don't believe that it's a matter of watering down the beef. I tend to believe it is more the age of the beef going into the hamburger. Also the less fat the less flavor to a certain extant. I have always prefered burger from the older cows, not cull age but pushing 3 years old as the more mature meat has more flavor and in burger it has more texture not just soft mush. 80/20 or 85/15 burger will have more flavor then 90/10.

Good worship this morning.
Since Tony went to Italy for 3 weeks, we decided on Mexican, but it was opening late due to owner arriving without key to get in, so we went to the diner on the mountain. Still very slow with very little people. Shame how it’s going downhill. Food was good. People in corner booth weren’t happy with their food, took their plates to manager to show him something, they never came back. Heard plates banging around back in kitchen, like the staff was unhappy with whatever the complaint was.

Nice nap this afternoon, wife woke me when time to leave this evening.

Son made it to the yankee game, sent some pics. They are still touring NYC. Supposed to go to Mets game tomorrow.
We got .25” rain tonight. Really needed it. Calling for storms tomorrow.

thanks Kyle. I'm already wearing my soft collar, I wear that all the time driving normally.
Many years ago I owned a few bikes, including a Harley Davidson.
A 50cc Harley. For real. Some imported piece of junk they put their name on, I think for the fuel crisis.
a real ring ding dinger. Four speed on the handgrips, a very strange bike.
I drove it to my summer job, was cheapest thing I could find with a motor on it, and then drove a heavily loaded sod boom truck at my job.
Very strange going from that big truck and getting into this 100 pound motorcycle going home.

I also owned a Bultaco on the farm. Now that was fun. It was old and beat and I didn't care.

Slow is the word, always scan the road surface ahead. Most of my driving won't be on public roads, I have zero desire to be in traffic with this thing.
If I wanted to do that, I'd get a full size motorcycle. Honda 1100 DCT would be nice

Used one of Don's 3M Dobie pads to get most of it off,
I had a chuckle at the name of these scrubbing pads as it's an anglicised version of the Indian word 'dhobi' which means "washing/cleaning".

You've heard/read me using 'dhobi' when I refer to doing my laundry and such as it's a Navy (RN/RCN/RAN/RNZN) slang word for that... indeed, laundry soap is referred to as "dhobi dust". :)

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.2C with a slight frost. It's presently 17.1C, clear and calm.

Had a very good sleep and, after a hectic weekend, a bit of a sleep-in. I'll get motivated for some tree-trimming tasks this arvo... I can't let such a beautiful day go to waste.

Gorgeous morning coffee outside included a low flypast of a pair of wedgetail eagles... fortunately, Penelope the Pussybeast was under a tree at the time.

That's about it, take care all.

104˚ (truck temp) at 7:04 P.M. headed to the garden and found 3 ripe cantaloupes. 4 others were over ripe and split because of the heat. Looks like several will ripen every day now. Still no rain this month or last month, garden is on drip irrigation every 8 hours.
