Worked on the door this morning to get it to not bind and lock easily. Success. Door can now be opened by wife and used as emergency exit. She with her handicap needs to have alternate ways to get out in case of fire. Now will work on a new threshold and step out made out of oak

Beautiful day 60º sunrise going to 100. Tropical storm building off of Baja coast is good news for the SW. We are starved for rain from CA to TX. Will finish up welding on the BH refurb project and tackle the overgrown lawn ... been too hot (105º) to mow.
Did some grocery shopping early AM - hope you all have a great day.

Odd summer here in the Rockies. Cool and rainy. Noticibly fewer bugs and birds.... or animals of all kinds.
It's nice for a change, but I do hope it goes back to normal.

Friend in S. Colorado told me it was the buggyest summer ever after heavy spring rains.

80F and cloudy @ 12:30, heading up to around 81F for the day's high. HI 84F, DP 66F, HU 63%, AQI 70. 73% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

Got rhubarb cleaned and cut up yesterday. Ended it up it wasn't a pie, didn't turn out well, crust was overdone ... :(

Got recyclables hauled up to the can.

Bag of salt added to softener.

After handling the softener salt issue, had change in plans: mow front yard ... which is growing like crazy ... 🤬

By the time I had that finished it was time to get cleaned up for dinner and company.

Had that Hellman's Crusted Chicken Parmesan ****, baked potatoes, and green bean casserole. Very tasty ... (y)

After dinner we went around back and sat outside, watch the doe and her two fawn dining at the apple buffet.

Still need to handle the compostables. Probably do that here in a bit before the rain rolls in.

Noticed I had lost one of the concrete weight blocks in the back off the core aerator, probably hook that up and drive around back and retrieve it before putting it and the Cub away in the garage.

Beets have been up for a while, noticed beans are starting to pop through the soil a couple of days ago. Yesterday one of the bean plants was around 4" high. Be interest to see how they look today.

Not sure what else is on the agenda for today but hopper feeder does need refilled.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday ... (y)

Morning all, 83 going up to 88 and sunny.
Weather was perfect yesterday, had about 50 people, and of course forgot to take pictures.

Drew and Paul representing TBN, great to have them both here.
Friends and family and neighbors from multiple states Some we have known since kindergarten.

Scotty, still think it's the motor brushes are worn, faster the motor spins, less contact on brushes.

Happy birthday to your mom Kyle!

PJS - glad to see the job changed worked so well,

The local to us mediteranean places use zaatar. Pretty common in the middle east, where it tastes different by country and area. All with the sumac though, some hot, most mild.

Still cleaning up but did most last night, coolers emptied and chairs, tent etc. put away.
Didn't have to clean up much from the desserts area

Be well,

Twins and triplets all in one shot finally.

Where does your friend live? Colorado has two or three roughly equal sized but completely different climate zones, The eastern half is flat dryland agriculture. The South and West are dryer yet - with some irrigated ag but lots of dry desert. The center is the Rocky mountains. Pines & snow. All are very different.

Mmmmm, surprisingly dry here in the southern Rockies. Now 79 days without any precipitation. My daughter lives outside of Durango, they have been super dry, less than 30% of their normal precip.

Maybe send some down our way?
