Good Evening Guys,

Popgadget, so I forgot that I had someone like you that lives across the street from me ! He is an electrician by trade, but he has also has a bachelors degree in EE ! He came over and we narrowed it down to the centrifugal switch on the motor ! If I have some free time tomorrow I will play with it a little more ! But we got it to work while I tried to start it and he held the switch , it started right up !

So I have not thrown in the towel yet ! 😂

Everyone have a good evening !!🙏

Good afternoon! Rehydrating. 104˚f low humidity and up to 25 mph gust make this a 2er warning day 1. excessive heat and 2. red flag day. Finished clearing out Mom's attic and found a relic - her wedding dress in a trunk we had to use a pry bar to open. I took a pic but I can't post it because it is haunted. The lace looks like a person - nose mouth eyes, my brother said it looks creepy and he will have nightmares.
Kyle does your daughter need a silk wedding dress? :giggle:

Good Morning Popgadget,
Ok so you can now tell me, that I told you so ! Starting capacitor didn’t fix anything !

Well it’s a long shot, but it might have a centrifugal switch at the end opposite the shaft that would shift windings as the motor speeds up. If it does have one, it could be stuck.

Got all the mowing finished on the Laupahoehoe end of property. Just leaves the 3 outside sections on Hilo end.

New owner of the free bed finally showed up about half hour ago after 3 false starts of him wanting to rent a box truck as he said it was raining really hard at his place. Didn’t rain here until he showed up, since stopped. Seemed really pleased with the bed, so we are happy too.

Still adjusting to our new bed but favorably impressed so far.

Good Morning Popgadget,

The thing that makes it hard to go out and discard this compressor away is that it wants to start but just can’t make it up to high speed to make air ! I have had this compressor longer than I can remember, so it probably doesn’t owe me much ! Just having a hard time forking over $600 for a new one !
Hopefully the mowing and trimming will go better !
Have a good day all !
Is the unloading valve working?

3rd shower of the day
After supper wife said let’s weed garden. As soon as I started I noticed some green beans needed picked, so wife switched to picking. I cleaned out cantaloupe plants and crabgrass between peppers and tomatoes.
Wife took last bucket of last year’s potatoes out of garage to barn as it’s been starting to smell. They had rotted, really rotten, like bucket has fluid in it. I dumped it down along woods, and did it stink when I dumped it.
We could smell it at the garden. I need to put dirt on top.
Fan feels good.

72°F and cloudy this morning, got up to 86° here today. Had a few thunderstorms rumble through in the wee small hours of the morning. We've been getting rain here pretty much every day over the last few weeks. After the extremely dry start to the summer, it's become rather wet. Getting hard to keep up with the grass now.

"New" job is still going great (in parenthesis because I've been there for eight months now). Keeps me very busy all day, which seems to make the days roll right by. By special request from my boss, I imposed upon my coworkers at both US facilities this past week a series of Lean Enterprise Simulations. We made paper airplanes, and nearly everyone had a blast while learning the basic concepts of Lean Manufacturing. Did that Tuesday and Wednesday, and quite enjoyed the banter that followed for the rest of the week. Planted the seeds, and they're growing. I'm calling that a success.

Wife trotted off to the Atlanta area last weekend to deliver a rescue dog (Pomeranian) to a foster there. She ended up bringing home another Border Collie pup that she's been wanting for several weeks. Her markings are a mirror image of Evey, who died back in March, and she was born two weeks later. So, we now have four BCs. She promised this is the last one (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more ...). I took that about as seriously as she does when I say I won't buy any more musical instruments.
So, left to right, Tehya (the one from Oregon), Mika (no longer the youngest), Neve (the oldest and crabbiest), and Kaya (the new kid).

Got fed up with HughesNet a couple weeks ago, and jumped on the "Best Effort" plan from Starlink. The equipment shipped in just a couple days. When I'd checked our availability, they had pushed it back yet again to December. So, we'll see how this works out. The stuff got here last weekend, and tomorrow is the day I've put aside for getting it set up to see how well it will work. Even if it's at the lowest advertised speed, it'll still be more than three times faster that what we have now ... which approaches dial-up speed.

Hope everyone is well.

Good evening, gents.

I spent the day seeing what had for different iron, thinking of different ways and measuring for snowplow attach to bucket

Critters came by early.

Enjoy the evening all.

Setting on the stone bench this evening Foxy also decided to set next to me watching the sun go down.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 7:45AM. Sunny. Hot. High 101F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thee more insurance declines, and the seller only came down $5k on the price. Gonna think hard on it this weekend, and probably stall long enough next week until the realtor can get me a tour of that other home.

Hope everyone enjoys a great weekend!
What percent are you below their original price? Or are you over the original asking price?

I think your tactics are right inline, but I don't know the market. With all the people leaving the state, and with interest rates rising, it should be more of a buyer's market, but what do I know....

Just went to visit my mom in Victoria, 94 years young today. We took her out to eat, she got a hamburger with no salt. Her close up eyesight is just about gone. She has to use a magnifying glass with a light. She has to write with a Sharpie, about 1" high letters to read them. She goes to the eye doctor semi annually, and I would assume there's nothing left to do to help her, or they would offer it? She told us her mother went to college for 2 years, and became a teacher. She taught for a number of years in a small town probably in the 1910- 1917 era. When she got married to my grandfather, she was forced to quit teaching. Not sure of the reasoning for that.

Installed a ROKU for my mom, hoping she can learn to use it, eventually hoping to cut her $187/month cable bill to less than half.

About 4 hours worth of driving, there and back. Glad to be home.

We've lost 2 chickens (out of 4) to predation this last week. Not sure if we want more or not. My wife is the primary caretaker, and she's tired of it I guess.... The Remington 1100 shotgun is next to the front door ready with #8 bird shot.

One of my buddies down there traded in and bought a new KTM 690 supermoto bike. Looks pretty good, but he probably won't ride it much. He's 5' 7" and it has a high seat height.
