can any of you who speak fluent hvac suggest a replacement capacitor for this unit, without having to take off cover?
I'd like to keep one in stock. Comfortmaker
I thought it would be simple to look it up but it wasn't
regular
long run
dual run
?

such a cheap/bad SEER unit not allowed in Southwest US, found that interesting, or maybe that's a torture zone for ac's?

Nice day today.
Good breakfast at the pizza place.
Mixed up and sprayed some weed juice. Now sitting on porch cooling down, nice breeze.
Snagglepuss was on me, but is now lying on porch licking herself.

66º at dawn going to 103 today. Got a 7am start on the road maintenance project. I got 2 neighbors involved. One sent a water truck and other one has a Yanmar 60 hp tractor with a box scraper. The 1 mile road is covered in crushed concrete. High speed drivers turn it to washboard on a regular basis. The landplane with the water barrel loaded about 60% makes the 7 ft unit weigh about 1k pounds. It cut the washboard off and the Yanmar cleaned up any irregularities. Then we wheel rolled it all back in with the water applied. It came out pretty flat...so I'm certain everybody will drive a little faster . But my little sport cars hate washboard so it has to be done.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Not really. My guess would be a dual for the fan and compressor 35/5
I have a pretty good stock if you needed something on a weekend or other off time. Best to open it and look. There is also a cap on the fan on the air handler.

Forgot to mention, the ceiling fan that stopped working was the capacitor had burned/melted. It already had a broken switch. I still have 2 of those original fans, one in my office has a broken switch, the other in the music room is loud when it runs.
Might be a third one in unused front bedroom. Now my wife’s craft room, and my former work from home office.

78F and "Fair" with a mix of sun and clouds @ 13:30. Heading up to around 80F for the day's high.

Long sleep for me last night (around 12 hours ...)

Woman off to do some grocery shopping with neighbor lady friend down at the Aldi's. She was going to do grocery shopping yesterday but spent the day in "Recovery Mode" ...

I did get the front cored with the Cub and the aerator. Air temp was cool with the breeze but sun felt hot when it was out.

Grass growing fast after rain.

Another couple of hours and Cub will be due for an oil and filter change.

After that got 8 of the cabbage planted, ran out of holes in the weed block fabric. Still another 4 cabbage to go.

Then moved the 2 new blueberries and all the yellow tomatoes which are still in pots out to inside the monofilament fencing.

Started marking off another with 18" spacing in preparation for melting more holes.

Noticed while I was working out there that the original hose to the weed burner torch was swollen up to around twice its normal size - figured that probably wasn't good - so ordered a new longer one, Amazon just dropped it off.

Also ordered another 6 Ultomato cages but they aren't supposed to be delivered until Wednesday.

Woman says tomatoes are looking pretty beat up after the storm, I haven't looked too closely yet. Will probably see about getting them cleaned up when She gets back from grocery shopping.

Did not get around to filling the feeders so I'm sure they are due.

Spotted adult groundhog in front of garage door last night ... 🤬

Agenda for today:

Get new hose installed on weed torch.

Finish marking out the rest of that 18" row.

Get some holes melted.

Get the last of the cabbage planted.

Maybe the blueberries and yellow tomatoes too ... but need to do a little work spreading out the dirt that came from planting holes.

Refill bird feeders.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday ... (y)

Having a bit of fun playing with security cam placement, but none permanently mounted yet.
Was going to ask what cam system you went with, David, but I see now it is the Eufy. I'm starting over again at the new place, and am leaning away from the Unifi stuff. I tried a pair of early Eufy, which at the time I don't think integrated with HomeKit. Now that they do, maybe I'll take another look.

The Protect stuff from Unifi works well when it works, but all too often it doesn't. Probably half of the issue is the Starlink connection, but they also generate a tremendous amount of traffic on the LAN, and that slows everything down. Could probably do with less than 14 cams, so again, partly my fault...
